Feb 2, 2012 - Yeah :-[ anywhere from the 1800's to about the 1950's there was still some classy dancing, now I go to gatherings and the most cultured thing you can expect is the electric slide... GAG

Mar 1, 2012 - you know, when fred dances, i often watch fred rather than his dancing partner. in this display of brilliance, i didn't take my eyes from cyd.

Mar 2, 2012 - I have always loved this number. Steve Martin and Gilda Radner did a rather charming homage/parody of it on SNL. On the night Gilda died, Steve was the guest host and had received word of her death, and instead of a monologue he showed the video of their dance number and almost broke down.

Mar 30, 2012 - The setup of this is gorgeous: they pass by couples at an actual dance, walking in silence, slightly nervous, but itching, then go to a private patch of courtyard, and just begin: first a series of mirrored lunges as foreplay, then a complete dance of almost balletic seduction. One of the handsomest dances ever filmed- outdoors on a summer night, no vocal, no dialogue- the dance is conversation, and an inspired pairing of the ballroom Astaire and the balletic Charisse. OMG!!
