Dec 1, 2010 - @ darkprose: you make a very good point. The acting is so good as most of the actors are trained and very experienced in theatre. You can see the difference it makes compared to American dribble such as 2 and a Half Men or Friends.

And frankly, it seems that we've got lots of pretty people and lots of mediocre to down right bad acting. I don't really watch regular tv at all except for the odd Law and Order whatever, or CSI whatever episode.

Jan 18, 2011 - Yes, in fact, it's so bad that if a show has some average looking people in the lead, I feel that already raises its value alone. But, your point about acting, too, is well taken. With the exception of a few shows, I just don't like television at all. Sitcoms are, I think, practically irredeemable because of pretty lackluster writing and acting. Among the exceptions is this show, of course. In the US the best consistently written comedy show is The Simpsons.

Sep 28, 2011 - Arrested Development was brilliant, without a doubt. I very much enjoyed it. And the episodes I have seen of 30 Rock I enjoyed, too. Arrested Development, certainly, was quite an exceptional show in almost every way.
