Apr 8, 2012 - You took some hits for saying what you did...I happen to own the Mannfred Mann version, I have been a longtime fan of his...and when I saw Springsteen in the spring of 1976, HE COVERED a Mannfred Mann song...as an encore. I will say this: Mann certainly did not hurt Bruce's rep as a songwriter...i.e.,....even magicians tend to agree that no matter how inaccurate the Tony Curtis movie about Houdini was, it was good for the magic business...
