paulelastic Says:
Mar 11, 2011 - There is an art to pouring a Guinness, and I am happy to note that the bartender in this clip does it right. There is nothing worse than a badly poured Guinness.
bullettoothburrows Says:
Mar 14, 2011 - Ugggh, this cutesy bullshit. "I'm Irish American" You're a fucking American, you've got nothing to do with Ireland.

comac1983 Says:
Mar 16, 2011 - The way Guinness is poured will have little or no effect on how the pint tastes but it will have some affect on it's appearance.
DazzyBoy12 Says:
Mar 16, 2011 - fucking claim to fame. 'im irish american.' stfu. your american with possible irish roots. cause you have irish roots doesnt mean that gives you the right to say whats a good irish pint of guiness and what not. im scottish with irish roots but i couldnt give a fuck what the irish do im never going to insult them by copying them. fucking stupid people. what happened to old chow anyway ?
paulelastic Says:
Mar 16, 2011 - I don't quite agree with that. A properly poured Guinness has a proper amount of "head", which is the foam on top. Starting from the head and working down changes one's perception of the stout. Bad pourers don't quite get it right. Draught Guinness aren't like other beers in that there is higher N2 content and lower CO2, and a proper pour ensures a "creamier" texture. Check the Wikipedia article on Guinness Stouts, under the Composition section.
comac1983 Says:
Mar 17, 2011 - I don't think I have to refer to wikipedia as a point of reference on this one. The way you pour the Guinness has nothing to do with the texture and it certainly won't make it "creamier" I can assure you. Your another wikipedia expert that knows the answer to everything but in actual fact knows sweet FA.
paulelastic Says:
Mar 17, 2011 - You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I merely disagree with it. So do many other Guinness drinkers and Guinness' Master Brewer.

riojadee Says:
Apr 2, 2011 - british fish and chips are never crisp, always really sloppy... and served with mushy peas!
CarolineTurpentine Says:
Apr 4, 2011 - guiness does needs= to be poured by someone who knows how. it does actually change the taste and texture for lack of a better word of the beer.
comac1983 Says:
Apr 4, 2011 - ok, scientifically can you explain by what magical molecular transformation occurs when you pour it "properly" than it would otherwise?
CarolineTurpentine Says:
Apr 4, 2011 - its called a double pour, and it takes about 120 seconds to do properly. you slooowly pour the first half of the beer and then allow it to rest. then you slowly pour the second half of the beer and the head is much creamier and the carbonation is better. also, caned guiness can't actually be drunk out of the can. Its a finnicky beer but its delicious.
comac1983 Says:
Apr 5, 2011 - you are a complete idiot
