May 13, 2012 - besides the fact that your trying to justify a fictional characters actions (which doesn't make any sense) Eli killed people to help save the word of god... sounds kinda like the people you hear about today. But it's ok right? because hes doing in the name of the right god. (your god) if the movie would have been the same thing but about the Qur'an, people would be mad. May 14, 2012 - Eli had no right to kill people... But he only killed in self-defence, which he saw as acceptable. He never judged (bar scene, "You will be held to account for the things you've done") and was a man who'd swallow his pride and back out, if a fight could be avoided... but would kill when needed, he never judged, he left that to God. Instead he took solace in the fact the Lord would guide his hand, with him being blind, it was the hand of God that kept him safe.

Don't forget, he felt guilt about not helping the victims on the road when he felt that it wasn't in his place to interfere. He's human, he's is us. No matter what religion.
