When the British came to take her and the family, the officer refused to take her out of respect for the sword. I have also visited a British war cemetry outside Pretoria. It is quite emotional to read the headstones of both sides (very emotional).

For example, „sal jy die Boere kom lei" = „wirst/würdest Du kommen, um die Buren zu führen" etc, etc. Dis jammer dat jy jou vertaling nie van ´n Duitser laat maak het nie...
