It was basically saying that in the future (now here), that we will gain vast amounts of knowledge, and that knowledge will be taken "to and fro" ... meaning worldwide, which the only possible means, so far, for this to happen is by internet. Just thought it was interesting that thousands of years ago they would think this up.

I mean, today a lot of people go to class hoping to get a job and thats it. I would implement a system where people must have a goal, something they want to build or do. These centers would allow them to achieve this and even find people with similar goals or dreams to work together.

Dec 23, 2011 - I totally agree. The classroom experience is wasteful, inefficient, and bloated. The future of education is online and on-demand. It will involve video conferencing for lectures, although I think in-class testing still has a role (to minimize cheating).
