May 23, 2011 - The tire was not inflated,it was clinched to the rem...A ratchet strap will clinch a tire to the wheel in the same way ,and safer..

mancamiatipoola Says:

May 24, 2011 - I think this method can only be used to pop the tire on the rim, but not to drive on. I don't see the expanded aerosol gas having enough pressure to keep 1/4 of the weight of a car up. Besides, most of it escapes when it explodes. I think u still have to inflate the tire with air afterwards.Has anyone ever tried this? Does the wheel hold inflation on the road just on that gas or do u have to inflate it with air too?Pls reply.

rbneville Says:

May 26, 2011 - you still have to inflate it with a compressor, this just seats the bead.

TRUEGATOR1 Says:

Jun 30, 2011 - I wonder how many people are gonna try this after seeing the video and end up in the ER??

bokser85 Says:

Jul 12, 2011 - This is confirmed by one TV Show... they tried this with few liquids. They did it with hairspray... What you don`t see on this video is LOW AIR PRESSURE in tire... Wheel must be in air (no contact with ground). But like I said, you don`t have enough pressure in tire.... you should pump it up!How ever this is very helping... Worst job is done very easily.

Aug 5, 2011 - Clean!!!!!

Aug 9, 2011 - lol, He just lights is and walks away like a boss

dirtTdude Says:

Aug 27, 2011 - depends on the tire manufactures tire inflation recommendations but typically 4X4s run lower pressure for a larger foot print in off road environments. the amount of end result PSI depends on barometric pressure, the amount and kind of accelerant used, volume of tire and wheel assembly and weather or not the valve stem has been removed.. I do this with farm equipment occasionally, I advise letting as much unburned gas out as possible because some solvents will eat the tire

mckannick Says:

Aug 27, 2011 - The tire wasn't 'inflated' but merely reseated on the rim. Works OK if that's all you got to reseat the tire to the rim. The hazard of doing it better be worth the risk.

XAngelicXDeathX Says:

Nov 23, 2011 - Yea it inflaes the tire BUT it causes a vacume effect, and if you put ANY pressure on it, it deflates.

Refused85 Says:

Nov 24, 2011 - this trick was busted on mythbusters

perryinjax Says:

Nov 25, 2011 - You are exactly correct. You must inflate with air compressor before driving on it, as this only seats the bead. You can see this tire in this video deflate some right at the end.

ArnAriel13 Says:

Nov 30, 2011 - BUSTED!

xsychosis Says:

Nov 30, 2011 - u saw mythbusters just now to huh

rdfutrell Says:

Nov 30, 2011 - mythbusters busted it's effectiveness!

Bradburn911 Says:

Dec 1, 2011 - Me too! It works but doesn't...

SuperYoungonce Says:

Jan 22, 2012 - What the gentleman in the video is doing is a very effective means of sealing a bead. The tire must now be filled with air. You can use the same technique for a wheel barrow, dolly, truck tire , ... Etc.

cloudswrest Says:

Feb 8, 2012 - The mythbusters episode was very disengenuous. This procedure only seats the bead. It does not inflated the tire. You also need to removed the valve. Mythbusters left it in. This can cause the tire to overinflated and potentially explode. Then when the vapors cool it causes a partial vacuum and deflates the tire. Leave the valve out during this procedure, then put it in and inflated the tire as usual.

inilledra Says:

Feb 9, 2012 - NO, not remotely a good idea in any event. NEVER USE GASOLINE for anything like that. Gasoline will kill you instantaniously. And when you begin to burn, you are not going to put that fire out as long as you are surrounded by fumes.

inilledra Says:

Feb 9, 2012 - DON"T USE GAS for any reason other than putting into your vehicle gas tank.

inilledra Says:

Feb 9, 2012 - You are correct about the process not inflating the tire. The Process is a controlled CUMBUSTION and the tire bead seating on the rim is the same process of the piston in an engine getting forced to TOP DEAD CENTER. But taking the valve out of the stem is not going to do anything for you. The cumbustion does not create enough exhaust to fill the tire cavity. So, you don't have to worry about the tire exploding, UNLESS you spray a whole can of ether into the tire.

GroundFloorElectron Says:

Apr 11, 2012 - haha you said CUM bustion

inilledra Says:

Apr 11, 2012 - You are mistaken. The Valve has nothing to do with anything. The tire is not going to explode unless you release the whole can of ether into the tire cavity. YOU only release 3-4 seconds of spray into the tire cavity and then ignite that amount and keep your fingers away from the tire bead. I have been doing this for many, many years.

oliverhallblack Says:

Apr 16, 2012 - As the gas is heated it expands filling the tire, then when the gas is cooled, it causes a chain reaction making the tire shrink pushing the air out. thats why this video was cut out at the end.

zix317 Says:

May 21, 2012 - I'm gonna go try it
