Nov 23, 2011 - It's sad that people are slandering such a great man's name instead of talking about this win (which was deserved!) and the video itself. I wish the Oscars channel would delete the offensive comments on their videos.

Dec 5, 2011 - Guys shut up, this was Sinatra's 1st Comeback. He just worked hard to get that role of Maggio. He's my favorite artist in music along with Dizzy Gillespie. And don't mention Bieber or Lady Gaga close to him, they don't even belong in Frank's world nor Dizzy's.

Dec 13, 2011 - I saw this the night it happened. I'm not saying that Sinatra didn't win, but what has always bothered me about this is that Mercedes did not look in the envelope. Makes you wonder....

Feb 5, 2012 - the whole story about Don Corleon is complete b.s. and the horse's head. The reason that Sinatra got the part is because Ava Gardner was working on a picture and suggested him for the part to the director. Sinatra auditioned and got the part. He got it because he was the best for the part of Maggio. And yes please don't mention Lady Ga Ga in the same breath as Frank or Sammy or Dean for that matter. These guys had actual classe as Lady Ga Ga is a skank.

rexkramer846 Says:

Feb 5, 2012 - No it wasn't and the whole story behind how Sinatra got the part is urban folklore. There is no truth to it at all. There was no horse and no Don Corleone who got him the part.

MrsHarryStreet Says:

Feb 27, 2012 - you're a moron. You are jealous clean victory of very talented and a hunted man.

bijibadness Says:

Mar 1, 2012 - wow, for such a noted "man's man", he sure runs like a dainty little girl's girl poof

dorsy2 Says:

Mar 1, 2012 - The real story is that Sinatra read the book and had asked to be cast as Maggio long before he was suggested for the part by Ava. She pushed it to Harry Cohn, but he'd already had tons of telegrams from FS asking to play Maggio. They'd pretty much decided on Eli Wallach, but Joan Cohn thought he was too beefy and non-Italian and looked nothing like the Maggio she imagined. She voted for FS and he got the part, in part because of her, and in part because they liked the test he made.

dorsy2 Says:

Mar 1, 2012 - He was five-seven and a half and weighed 120 pounds. Do you expect him to run like Stallone?

dorsy2 Says:

Mar 1, 2012 - She gave a quick glance at the top of the card, which was sticking out of the envelope. It was fast, but she looked.

ChiKenMcNASTY Says:

Mar 16, 2012 - You're just jealous because you're not him.

jamietotz Says:

May 1, 2012 - I saw the other four performances (Roman Holiday, Shane, and Stalag 17), and I must say, the only one who actually stood out from these nominees was Sinatra.

sandya418 Says:

May 14, 2012 - "They're doing a lot of songs tonight but nobody asked me"

eu0014 Says:

May 15, 2012 - But let's agree that his performance was not at all the best of that year!

MrImiller07 Says:

May 17, 2012 - Sinatra's winning the Oscar revived his career and led to a series of successful films including The Man with The Golden Arm [his personal favorite] The Tender Trap, Pal Joey and Some Came Running. His recording career was revived as well by his new association with Capital records, where he made the Concept albums, arguably the best of his life.

ashleyg325 Says:

May 29, 2012 - Ugh, 14 liked for the Corleone comment. Will this myth ever die?
