Apr 27, 2012 - Don't forget Richard carrying the top end on this one.
tjmpiano Says:
Apr 27, 2012 - you're right and not to mention Richard could sound like Ray Charles whenever he felt like it... my god....what a talent...

Apr 28, 2012 - It's kind of hard expressing what I feel...I remember hearing "the Band" for the first time in 1968 at a jr high school "sock hop" and as I went through puberty and into adolescence becoming a young man and then an adult the Band carried me along with their music and their incredible Americana music...I miss them, I loved them, and thanks to YouTube and other avenues their music will survive forever. With the passing of Levon, their "Masterpiece" has been completed!

May 6, 2012 - I am literally crying. This is one of the best performances I have ever seen in my life.Is there more footage of this concert? I've never heard of this footage... it is stunning. There must be more footage somewhere? Does your brother know anything about this?I have been basically sobbing for the past hour listening to The Band... watching videos... missing Richard and Rick and Levon. It is just devastating. The beauty of their collective genius is beyond words. Thank you for posting

May 6, 2012 - I have the complete show in two different formats. One is a raw disc with no menus from which this track here was taken and the other I bought factory sealed on Amazon (Cate Brothers & The Band Japen 1983) I've only seen it once on Amazon and i bought it. I have not seen another copy, I have however posted another entire show on a different channel if you want to watch that. Search Youtube username TXPHILLYPHAN and you'll find 12/31/83

May 6, 2012 - if you message me I'll fill you in on how to get a copy of the Japan show. You can buy the audio CD on Amazon... I love listen to Rick on the acoustic on the right side in this tune! It adds both angst and pathos simultaneously.

May 6, 2012 - When you say "message me".. do you mean instant message? Not sure how to do that.My email is ronlosangeles@gmail.comI found the audio cd... but I actually want the dvd. I mentioned the acoustic guitar to a bandmate who I sent a link to the video! (makes no difference). Cool that you noticed that too. GREAT SOUND.

May 28, 2012 - my niece's fav love song---took her to see Danko in a very small venue a few yrs b4 he passed. He was solo and did this amazing song and played an old beat up acoustic rhythm guitar with so simple strumming. The lead on this version is so sweet and way different than Robbie played it. Saw wonderful Levon a few yrs back at The Apollo with Costello--sad and joyful.

Apr 25, 2012 - Wow. It's just so sad that Levon has joined R.M. and R.D. What a legacy of great soulful music. This is my personal favourite. RIP .
