The average mindset is that it must have been bogus or a scam, but I believe the inventor was threatened, falsely imprisoned, which is common place if a politician wants to throw off a competitor, or the inventors end up dead. Most are so terrified after the first confrontation they drop all of their work & never pursue it anymore.
