Apr 2, 2011 - I remember the day I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as well... Right when I was on insulin , I've seen dull colorful floaters , a body high , drowsiness, light sensitivity, and dizzyness. Do you have any of these symptoms from the insulin? The insulin has side effects but I can't find anyone who has the same effects as me.

Apr 16, 2011 - this is exactly how i was, diagnosed at 7 , am now 19.Diabetes is tough as hell on a kid, even though i always had good control and tried to live as normal as a life as possible, its still always there. It gets really rough sometimes, and theres not much we can do but learn to deal.People will say they understand but they will never really know. But like all obstacles in life, we must overcome them and grow. So for all you young diabetics who are struggling, stay strong, it gets easier over time

May 14, 2011 - I am 25 and I am starting to come to the realization that I may have had type 1 diabetes my entire life. I've had all of the symptoms, as well as several (though mild, but enough to give me problems) issues with my health. Things SEEM to be improving, though I take no insulin, so I think there's a chance that some might develop an immunity, although it takes time, depending on the individual. This disease is a plague and I hope they find a cure as soon as possible. It stole many years of my life

May 28, 2011 - I have T1 as well through 6 Endocrinologists in nearly 12 years the final confirmed. It's a constant battle, because though I'm heavy set, I'm still T1. I was diagnosed with a blood sugar of 984 and the pump is a wonderful thing to have! I completely agree. It's the best thing to help control Diabetes. It's one of the things that continued to me go on. I remember taking 8 - 15 shots a day.

Jul 2, 2011 - Did the father seriously say that 194 was better than a 70? Oh my god.
mermaidofsuburbia Says:
Jul 2, 2011 - I can't believe the crap they're feeding that kid. Every second over 140 is doing major damage to your body, I don't care how much insulin will cover his food, he shouldn't be eating all that cereal and milk.
JDRFsupporter Says:
Jul 10, 2011 - @mermaidofsuburbia he can eat whatever he wants u ain't no diabetes expert
hopeaug1 Says:
Jul 13, 2011 - i have type one diabetes, ive had it since i was five. As long as you take care of your self you'll be fine. dont worry.

Jul 13, 2011 - Agreed thank god, ive had it since i was five, some people can just be idiots........or there still stuck in the past of old diabetes care.
JDBlessin Says:
Jul 20, 2011 - 194 isn't that bad for a young type 1 diabetic. At that age you're looking for around 150.
haleymadimckenzie Says:
Aug 9, 2011 - this kids a fucking idiot because he lets it controll him i have diabetes (type 1) and i am perfect at taking care of myself he makes his own issues and his parent are negative about it he lets it controll him and i dont
haleymadimckenzie Says:
Aug 9, 2011 - uh yeah he can its not about what he eats its about the carbs he eats and how much insolin he takes to cover the carbs he eats one unit of insolin is about 20 carbs so when you eat a 100 carb meal you need 5 units insolin he can eat whatever he wants and he will be fine as long a he takes the right amount

Aug 19, 2011 - @haleymadimckenzie I agree with you. Yeah type 1 sucks at first but you learn to live with it. I now look at type 1 diabetes as a benefit. I've met some of my best friends at diabetics camp. Don't let diabetes control your life.

Oct 2, 2011 - "They get too much money from us just by selling insulin. :) motherfuckers"Please don't feel this way.I know there are some people who like to bash the pharmaceutical companies because they make alot of money. They say the cure for cancer also won't be found. This is bull shit. There is a tremendous amount of research being done all over the world. There is money to be made from the cure also. They are VERY close! Stay healthy and be ready when the cure becomes available! Good luck.

Feb 2, 2012 - Just found out on Nov 26 2011 that my 6 yr old daughter is type 1. We are just now getting it under control. Cant wait for her to be able to go to the pump! She plays basketball and I get so nervous every time she plays. She doesn't. Lol. Which I am glad she plays b/c it's great for her! I still have to wake up @3am every night b/c I almost always have to give her a snack or juice b/c she will b low in the morning.

Feb 14, 2012 - He probably DRANK COW'S MILK to get it in the first place! betacasein(dot)org/?p=type1-diabetes I had problems with gluten, but A1 beta casein (found in dairy foods) seems to be a common trigger for type 1 diabetes. A2 milk is sold at the grocery stores here in Oz now, and I've been sticking with A2 milk and am off soy. Have you tried a product blogged on glutenfreesoyfree(dot)wordpress(dot)com/2011/09/13/possible-solution-gluten-intolerance/ for her T1 DM? celiac and t1 are related.
