Nov 3, 2010 - I'm having such a hard time with this stitch. I can do it, but it turns out too small and bunched together. I can't figure out how to get it right. :(

tjw1963 Says:

Nov 4, 2010 - What you can do is pull each loop up until your hook is horizontal. This will make puffy puff stitches. I have made a video on how to do this and will send you the link.

Nov 4, 2010 - Thanks! The video helped. Is it better to use a larger needle for the puff stitch?

tjw1963 Says:

Nov 4, 2010 - You can try a larger hook to see if that helps.

Nov 14, 2010 - You make everything seem so easy! After following your videos I can do it too and I've been crocheting less than a month! Thank you!

Nov 22, 2010 - Your videos are great for beginners! You start from the first stitch and go slow, and that is appreciated.I'm off to start my puff stitch blanket now!

Dec 16, 2010 - Love all your videos! I've been crocheting for about 2 months now and have made a ton of hats so far. I'd like to do a puff stitch baby blanket or something similar, do you have a video for that?

tjw1963 Says:

Dec 19, 2010 - This video can be used to make a blanket. You will crochet a chain of 150-175, then make your puff stitch.

tjw1963 Says:

Dec 19, 2010 - You are welcome! :)

Dec 21, 2010 - i have a question about the mittens you teach to crotchet how easy would it be to convert the stitch pattern to a puff stitch style pattern and how would one go about this because i love this stitch.

tjw1963 Says:

Dec 21, 2010 - Most likely there would be some modification with trial and error to see if the stitch would work. It may work best with 2 or 3 ply yarn and a smaller hook but that would mean modifying the whole pattern.

THEMYSYAMIMI Says:

Dec 28, 2010 - is it ok if i dont skip 1 stitch?

tjw1963 Says:

Dec 28, 2010 - If you skip a stitch, the beginning of your work will be smaller. As you progress in your work, the rest of your piece will expand. You will have a piece that is smaller at the beginning and larger at the end. I do not recommend skipping a stitch.

Mar 12, 2011 - Thank you so much for creating this video. Your video quality is SO clear. I had to have people show me to crochet in person because I could never see the stitches on videos. Also your instructions are very easy to follow. I feel confident that I can do it.

Dec 17, 2011 - Ty SO much for this video. I've been making the same afghan, same stitch, for 40+ years. Think it's time to venture out? Lol This is a beautiful stitch. I'm starting with a mohair and silk yarn scarf for my daughter. A little harder through the chain stitch but with the years of crocheting behind me not a problem. I'm subscribing to your thread to learn new things. Ty!

zzprettyprincess Says:

Apr 26, 2012 - So how many times do you wrap the yarn around your hook???

tjw1963 Says:

Apr 27, 2012 - You wrap it around the hooke once and then insert the hook through the loop/stitch, pull through. You do that 4 times.
