The analogy of the treadmill is wonderful: Sam Bell constantly cycles between clones without progressing in his life at all, destined to stay still on this one track forever. That's why I can't agree with reviews saying the movie peaks too early. The twist of the movie is not that this particular Sam Bell is a clone, it's that he's about to get off the treadmill.
