Feb 15, 2012 - Great vid! I'm glad you put up some info about the song. Now I know why I especially liked it, since I love The Eagles so much. Liked the pic of "Muscle Shoals." I heard that mentioned in the Lynyrd Skynyrd song "Sweet Home Alabama," but I never knew what they were talking about.

Feb 16, 2012 - LOL That's always been a problem, even in Alabama. The Swampers were kind of like the power behind the throne of so many of music's greatest. You wouldn't know who they were until they started playing. One day giving a country rock performance for Fire Lake, then a R&B groove for I'll Take You There, then a bombastic style for Come To Papa or a disco-beat for When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman. They never met anything they couldn't master immediately.

Feb 17, 2012 - I would have never guessed they played on all those diverse sounding songs. I looked them up and they played on "Kodachrome" too, one of my all time fave songs. I was going to ask how you know all this stuff, but then I read your channel. I really like your vids.

Mar 7, 2012 - You're right, unfortunately. Just like Hank Jr said "and the hang overs hurt more then they used to." I guess we just can't dive in head-first the way we used to. I turned 21 in 1980 and I didn't have a single thought about what 2012 would be like. Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.....I think I'll send that to Bob and see if he can use that in a song. lol

Mar 8, 2012 - The first time i've listened to Bob, I was 17, had nothing to do with life. When I listened the Against the Wind Album, something inside me changed, and with that, almost all my way of living. I'm 19 now and im surprised with the old fans. These kind of things makes me believe in the Fire Lake, The Fire Inside, and makes me Face the Promise. Toast for you guys.

Apr 13, 2012 - Ya know the devil you've got...but you don't know the devil you'll get. Fire Lake sounds tempting and I've been there more than my fair share...now this terminal cancer makes me wish I'd stayed where I was so with all due respect, "Bob? Go fuck yourself.""

Apr 18, 2012 - Not a big Bob Seger fan (and I'm from Michigan, so that's kind of a sin) but this song is like a punch in the gut. Sounds upbeat but manages to makes you feel so damn sad. Almost reminds me of Springsteens "Spirits In The Night."
JamKai Says:
May 11, 2012 - David Hood is Patterson Hood's father from one of the greatest Rock-n-Roll bands of all-time The Drive-By Truckers who are from Alabama. If you like Bob Seger and don't know about the Drive-By Truckers then you're truly missing out on some of the best current music in the world!!! Thank you David Hood!!!

I know I want to just leave sometimes from all the hardships of life and head off to that paradise, Fire Lake. The place we all want to head to when we reach that 40 milestone!! I know that now I understand what it means to be " afraid to cut the cake". I get you Uncle Joe. I wont be cutting any more damn cakes after this lol!! :P Let's all head out to Fire Lake!! I will see you there!! :) ♥♥
