Apr 1, 2008 - The country can be a bad place, but because of the hardship the people grow up strong and proper. I think that is what thaiiczedtea is saying. That the people are great, but even they don't want to live in cambodia. He's not insulting you. Oh, by the way read my earlier comment where I say the angry cambodians are actually american. This sounds exactly like you. You hate everybody.
SaiyanVes Says:
Apr 1, 2008 - I am American, but I don't hate everybody, all I'm doing is defending my opinion, and attacking insults(it's the American way). Besides, these comments were months ago, and calling someone's country "a stack of shit" isn't exactly a compliment. I must say though, you take people's comments to mean more than what they are, to actually think I hate everybody but you don't even know me.
boxsterandwelby Says:
Apr 2, 2008 - I understand the cambodian point of view. I'm actually on your side. But, it seems like the argument always ends up being cambodians want everyone to appreciate them, but then they can't refrain from insulting thailand. If you read the comments from this video and others that seems to always be the case. It sounds something like this "we want the world to appreciate bokator but the thai's suck at boxing and we're always better." And, the people who write this are usually american born cambodians
SaiyanVes Says:
Apr 4, 2008 - I hope you understand that these comments we see are from a handful of people, they don't represent Khmer/Thai people as a whole. I understand the need to be appreciated, but like I said before, I can never watch a Pradal Serey/Muay Thai fight without seeing these comments. I just don't comment anymore, talking shit won't get us anywhere.
boxsterandwelby Says:
Apr 4, 2008 - Thanks for the positive comment. I agree with you I'm going to stop commenting. It seems the least educated people with the ignorant opinions make the biggest noise. I just feel so bad that the cambodians feel so underappreciated that they resort to insulting thailand and vice versa. All the people I've met from that area are such happy and warm people I just can't imagine what tragedy has made them resort to acting like this.

Apr 24, 2008 - I know man, I've been to Thailand for numerous times. It's the best place buddy! I totally agree with you that Cambodians might've stolen some Thai styles, but I dont' know much about this, just simply giving a guess. I've got one Thai friend here and he's nice.
khmerbraveheart Says:
Jun 1, 2008 - we never stold thai style, it was with us for generations.. Thailand adopted Khmer Culture and i can give you proof, i have it with me right now... and during the Khmer Rouge, Thailand got more attention then Khmer so Muay Thai was introduced to America while Khmer couldnt do nothing about it when we were in war.. so yeah.. dont say Khmer stold things from thailand when Thai adopted our culture, ways and customes.. if you wanna debate, your talking to the right guy right now. I know the history.
WiseBetta2004 Says:
Jun 2, 2008 - Seriously? I love Muay Thai. Well is khmer boxing the same with Muay Thai?
khmerbraveheart Says:
Jun 2, 2008 - well, muay thai and Khmer boxing is alittle different. just that, Khmer fighter are more of "NO Stance". if you dont notice, but I agree that khmer may have stolen some style, but then agian, how can we say Khmer steal the style when it was with use for generation. IF you dont believe me, you can also watch a video call "Khmer Empire City Of God" on youtube. and you'll see how the chinese guy talk about Cambodia.. He was there. oh And Khmer fighters are more of close range..

khmersovanaphumi Says:
Aug 30, 2008 - Mouy Thai is originated from Khmer Blok Kator. The Thai learn it from the Khmer Surin, Khmer Sisaket, and Khmer Boriram. The´khmer in these three provinces are the among the reall fighters of Khmer and they are skill with the Khmer Blokator. They joined Thailand in the late 17century.
khmersovanaphumi Says:
Aug 30, 2008 - I think you are so ignorant. Cambodia never copy from you thai, But you copy from us from dance to fight, Thai characters, even your royal words are from Khmers. We are a bit poorer but you are also still a poor country. Your country has no war for forever but is so far behind compare with malaysia which is just liberated. So what? Your people can do it better if Cambodians have something for you to learn from, if not you are amout to nothing.
Zasz72 Says:
Jan 19, 2009 - The thing I love about Cambodian fighters is that there's no compassion. "Oh, your leg was broken? TOO GODDAMN BAD." Rofl. Whatever it takes... Doesn't surprise me after what the country went through, hehe.

Mar 31, 2008 - Everyones technique has it's advantages but the disadvantage are being arrogant in the ring. One mistake is all it take to knock an opponent out.Never underestimate anyone. It easy to say when we are watching. In an actual fight it's tough as nail. Credits to both fighter for giving their all.
