Jan 1, 2012 - Hi, Estonian here. Well it's always interesting to hear other people talk about your country, more so if your country is fairly unknown but it was a little, uhm lets say broad overview. Estonia as a nation is new an partly thanks to the British actually as they helped, would of been quite a fact to mention. :) Though our people by historical records, archeology, genealogy date back quite some time. Basically we would probably be Finland if it wasn't for the water barrier.

May 19, 2012 - Very simplified understanding of history, but baseline is still correct. Few additional facts could've give more broader understanding of Estonians. For example that Estonians are Finnic nation that has inhabited this piece of land for at least 5000 years, and throughout history has had closer relations to Scandinavia and Germany than to neighboring Russia - sounds weird but this way it has been. In the meantime, it has always been the frontier and therefore under constant violent turbulences.
