Feb 3, 2012 - Have you ever had a heart attack yourself? Ask the folks on this board who have had a heart attack how many times during the period of time when they were having a heart attack that they said "I'm okay." My guess, more than once...

Feb 4, 2012 - Heart disease is the #1 killer of EVERYONE in America. Not just women. And why? Lousy diet. Lack of exercise. Too much caffeine, too much sugar.Keep moving. Eat a balanced diet. No soda. Lean protein. Lots of fruits and vegetables. Easy on the carbs. Exercise. ANY exercise is better than none. Take a far parking spot instead of circling for 5 minutes (save gas too!)

Feb 9, 2012 - When the tow-truck dropped me off at home after my car accident, I decided to wait for my eldest to get home so that I would have company at the hospital, but I made sure to tidy-up the house since my in-laws were coming over to take care of my other 3 kids. That's what moms do...

Feb 11, 2012 - @Mystefier Katie Couric has been all over prostate cancer for years. I don't think there is any need to be upset that people are advocating awareness of something. This isn't for funding so much as it is a MESSAGE to get checked out! Women are reminded to do breast exams, so we do. My husband & many men I know REFUSE to have colon exams, despite knowing how important it is.Heart attacks for men are much more painful, they call 911 faster & may survive. Women need to know the signs.

Feb 17, 2012 - Apparently people are upset that this doesn't include men?Just to inform: Heart attacks are generally distinctly different between men and women. Both definitely go through denial, so it's important to inform. But it's also important to use separate methods so each gender can know what their own signs & symptoms look like. (For example: men generally feel it in their chest, women generally in the middle of their back) So that's why this is geared toward women! A very smart idea!

Feb 19, 2012 - I'm more upset at how they make light and humor of such a serious and potentially life threatening situation. Not to mention it turning out to be an iphone commercial.

phyllismc Says:
Mar 29, 2012 - The reason the Go Red campaign focuses on women is that our symptoms are not the symptoms we usually associate with a heart attack. We may not recognize we're having a heart attack just because we're having a "hot-flash", lack of concentration, or a sore neck . . . Those things seem minor, & we're apt to ignore them. Whereas a man knows immediately what's happening if he experiences numbness on his left side & pain in his chest, we women have to be on the lookout for different signals.

Apr 11, 2012 - From Urban Dictionary: "A symbol with X being the eyes and D being the mouth, to make a seeming of the person having squinched eyes and a mouth wide open laughing." There's other interesting info there too, if you care to look it up.
Mudhooks Says:
May 13, 2012 - I have no problem with the idea of the videI. What I have a problem with is the dismissive way it is played out. Sure, be funny but this is way too dismissive of the seriousness of a heart attack. If you have ever tried to get someone showing the symptoms of a heart attack to go to the hospital and they don't think "it is all that serious", this is not funny. Two minutes can save a life.

May 15, 2012 - It might be a bit dismissive, but honestly, are you going to remember another depressing clip or an awesome vid with Elizabeth Banks
willareeves Says:
May 19, 2012 - One of the main points is that the signs and symptoms of heart attacks are different in women than in men. So familiarize yourself with them and you could save a life.
