Apr 21, 2008 - This is a great video. I've suffered from knee problems for about 10 years and thought they would just go away. I think I have iliotibial band syndrome. Thanks.

renumeratedfrog Says:

Apr 22, 2008 - Generally, you can see the difference in leg length discrepancy just by looking at them. Unless of course it's a dramatic difference. You'd have to look at the lower back and see if there's a muscle imbalance, but even then it's kind of tricky. Self-diagnosis is very unreliable and should be left to the pro.

Jun 6, 2008 - Would scar Tissue in my knee show up on a MRI?

MoUzia57 Says:

Jul 12, 2008 - is it normal to have pain when you stretch the itband?

abelsonb Says:

Jul 12, 2008 - No its not normal, have you tried using the foam roller to work it out.

Adrianspaperwalls Says:

Aug 4, 2008 - i believe I still have it but ive had it for 4 months now and ive been resting so much....but there is but its only minor pain..could it possibly take longer till im 100%?

acamic01 Says:

Aug 17, 2008 - At 7.40 you mention people go from Physio to Chiro, with little success. Who would be an ideal practitioner to work this type of treatment?

cordovawellness Says:

Aug 22, 2008 - excellent explanation. this is very insightful information that will help my massage therapist when she is working on my IT bands. i first noticed my ITBS manifesting itself in the lateral knee flexor tendon and thought that i had irritated a hamstring i saw my MT and she quickly discovered (by my jumping off the table) that it was instead the IT band...and i'm a personal fitness trainer of almost 10 yrs!

thekillerbee123 Says:

Oct 4, 2008 - One thing to remember - she talks about having one leg shorter than the other - this is actually quite rare. what normally causes this difference in length, is the core muscles, and checking the core for imbalances is vital. if they have tight psoas or quadratus lumborum then this can lead what 'appears' to be a shorter leg.

fraufoote Says:

Oct 24, 2008 - I have itbs and my leg goes numb. or gets a very heavy feeling rather.

abelsonb Says:

Oct 27, 2008 - I would have your leg checked out by soft tissue practitioner, if your leg is becoming numb on a regular basis.

Necrophogist Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - i may have this syndrome too, it all started about a year from lifting wheights i ran up and down stairs alot and did not stretch very much..now i have lack of movement in my hips when i sit down i can put my left leg across the other, and the right leg i cant even get it half the way... also i feel my left leg abit more longer than the right one

Necrophogist Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - now i cant even stand for 20 minutes because my hamstrings get really thight and start hurting me alot.oh also when i crouch down to my kneesthe left one moves to the right its kinda weird like nothing is holding it togetheri can feel the bone like toc..tocim just 20 years old any ideas of who to go to?

cdawng Says:

Feb 15, 2009 - Also, this video is missing some orthpedic testing. Try performing Nobles IT band friction syndrome test, or Ober's IT band contracture syndrome. Also you would want to check how the tibial tubercle rotates when you extend the knee. In knee extension the tibial tubercle shifts to the left(which is proper function of the tubercle). You would also want to check the VMO muscle, which can be tight and cause the IT band to become tight.

marylbounds Says:

May 13, 2009 - I am a DPT. I recently developed an acute onset of ITB syndrome. I found your video very helpful. Thank you.

Zabbai Says:

Jul 14, 2009 - I just got this from wearing really bad shoes and increasing my mileage. Now I can't get rid of it. This sucks!

marathonbenee Says:

Jul 14, 2009 - Zabbai - I have had this for 5 years. I am so desperate to run again I am willing to try anything. I am going for source point therapy tonight - it is something new and there are videos on youtube about it. There are not many people trained to do this yet - but if it works I will post another comment.I've tried stretching, deep tissue massage, PT, ultrasound... I'm not a doctor - just a fellow sufferer. Best of luck.

njlaserdoctor Says:

Jul 17, 2009 - I suggest high power deep tissue laser therapy. Works the myofascial component that is always missing in most therapy. ITB problems always involve gluteus muscles and restricted ankle joint movement.. NEver had a case that did not respond to proper laser treatment.

annabon12 Says:

Aug 29, 2009 - I have bilateral external snapping hip along with other biomechincal probelms. This is also linked to ITB sydrome.I have had the probelm a year, and I am unable to walk more than 5 minutes without crutches. I've had 50+ Physio sessions, seen 2 surgeons, 3 cortisone injections, and still not much progress. Has anyone got any thing else that might work?

Samadhiatman500 Says:

Nov 24, 2009 - Wow I have not been diagnosed but I am pretty sure this is what is plaguing me. Now I just have to find a treatment center, sports medicine center and ideally a sports medicine doctor. I have it through all the hip flexors as well as the foot.

testiclecrusher2 Says:

Feb 21, 2010 - I had acl surgery about 6 months ago, and I believe the surgery has caused me to have itbs. I had no idea I had itbs until I read the symptoms and it definitely sounds like I have itbs.

alexandra61265 Says:

Mar 19, 2010 - I fell into a pot hole eight years ago. I have been diagnosed with restless leg.???? Today after a sleepless night I went to my Dr. She bent my right leg over and touched my knee. I almost fell off the table. I am so glad to finally have an answer this video is spot on . rast123456789 Says:

Aug 26, 2010 - oh this is what i have

NaturesCycles Says:

Dec 15, 2010 - I have been having issues with my IT band. I am a keen cyclist. My left foot has never been comfortable in the peddle and always wants to twist in the opposing direction. I have tried for yrs to get it comfortable but it is never the same with each new set of cleats.

Jacobzi Says:

Jan 7, 2012 - I have flat feet which has caused pronation in my right foot, which in turn has let to IT Band Syndrome. Intense pain in back, knee and ankle all day everyday. I hate it!!!
