Apr 15, 2012 - That would scare the shit outta me, because that would be accompanied by hundreds and thousands of pissed off southerners led by General Lee!

Defcon458 Says:

Apr 22, 2012 - YEEEEEEEEHAWWWWWW! LET'S GIT'EM, LEE!

william nicholson Says:

Apr 24, 2012 - you are very right ! they would loose their fear with this noise called the rebel yell. not afraid to go straight at positions. god was behind them at that point , live or die did'nt matter, killing Yankees was good for god !!! They had to protect their land ! not many deserters in the CSA. Deo Vindice my Soliders of God.

william nicholson Says:

Apr 24, 2012 - Congrats, I would'nt say argument, I would say a better way of life. Southern people never cheeted southren people. We have a way with god here in the south. You must live here a long time to see it. In the north cheeting was normal for them, down here taboo and fround on. More like a close nit family. It's still that way today. Thats why we dont take to the north now, or ever. We don't like people like that here. We are fine, leave us alone !!!

DestroyerOfSense000 Says:

May 5, 2012 - I think state's rights had more to do with it than people say.

rainmker57 Says:

May 6, 2012 - right on,,right proud,,,,

LaxRatBra Says:

May 9, 2012 - The south tried to succeed from the union, because they believed it was unjust to take away or outlaw something they wanted. It was over federal power, the south believed the states should decide there own laws. You must also believe in ghost.

jum1801 Says:

May 12, 2012 - Wow. Simply incredible. As that literally awful yipping swelled, my hair stood on end, feeling like barbed wire. An electric charge shot up my back & into the base of my skull so hard I expected to see sparks. Can anyone imagine how truly terrible 15,000 charging Confederates sounded? When they were just 50 yards away from the blue line, screeching like demons from hell, bayonets leveled as they broke into a run, & the first Yanks began turning, just to get away from that horrible sound?

Forsaken593 Says:

May 16, 2012 - That's not necessarily what it was about...perhaps you are the one who should educate yourself. Anyone who has studied the Civil War aside from reading a wikipedia article on it will know that it centered mostly around state's rights; not, as you put it, because the north wanted raw materials and taxes from the south. Although slavery wasn't the main issue at first, it became an extremely important part of the war toward the last part of it.

gflo6363 Says:

May 17, 2012 - Actually you are also wrong. The primary motivation was the new southern states acquired from mexico and the questions of whether they would become slave owning or not. If they did the south would have too much power and thus the north intervened.

gflo6363 Says:

May 17, 2012 - spoiler alert, the south loses the war. Red Neck Faggets

brohoofington Says:

May 17, 2012 - Fuck off

brohoofington Says:

May 17, 2012 - @gflo6363 Fuck off LONG LIVE THE SOUTH

dalektaliban Says:

May 18, 2012 - actually the full quote is "If I could free all the slaves and preserve the Union I would do that. If I could free none of the slaves and preserve the Union I would do that. If I could free some slaves and leave others is place and save the Union, I would do that also."

TheAwakenedHeretic Says:

May 18, 2012 - If the South won the war. The North would still be advanced, the South would be a despised third world country.

DEOVINDICE6 Says:

May 19, 2012 - incredible. only that generation of determined men could create that yell. it sent sparks up my spine. both sides had great heroes and terrible tyrants.

DEOVINDICE6 Says:

May 19, 2012 - this makes me proud of my heritage.

MamaMacabre Says:

May 24, 2012 - No one thinks slavery was a good thing, but the Civil War wasn't about slavery. President Lincoln didn't invoke slavery as an issue until the northern citizens began to wonder what the hell they were doing spending money and lives on fighting their own sons, fathers, cousins. You can also thank President Lincoln every time you pay your IRS tax bill, because he started all of that to fund the Northern army.

MamaMacabre Says:

May 24, 2012 - Another bit of history...the Mormons were hounded out of Missouri because they were against slavery...the Missourians were afraid that slavery in their northern state would be outlawed with the help of the LDS. It wasn't because of polygamy...that's the issue the landowners used to incite the public...just like slavery was used to incite the public in the Civil War. I believe there was already a movement in the South to end slavery that was underway, but not sure of the details.

rangerwhoop Says:

May 26, 2012 - Whoooooop!

unclejerry010101 Says:

May 28, 2012 - agree that Abe wasn't the civil rights champ history claim, but overall the civil war was a good deal about slavery. "Read the letters" is an ambiguous claim to evidence. Many southern states put clearly in their declarations of secession or war that slavery (or the dominance of white over black) was the "holy" cause for which they were fighting. And the fact remains that radical abolitionist republicans (NOT abe himself) were scaring the slave loving south. you're sugar coating, my friend.

unclejerry010101 Says:

May 29, 2012 - also, there were slave owners in the north (especially new york) but by the time of the actual war, the entire north was free states. so you're wrong - there were no slave owners in the north at the time of the fighting.

blackriflex39 Says:
