artsydude8900 Says:

Jan 9, 2011 - no, she has it right on the money, the amount of marketing on the internet makes it very easy to limit the amount of options to music, movies, etc. with the magical "m" word...marketing by all means of advertising. However, you have to hear the name of the band first before looking for their music. How else will you find their music if you don't know any band names?

MrJacksonvill Says:

Mar 19, 2011 - Yes AMERICA is missing out ...because believe me..I live out here in Europe..and its pratically the same..but therefore they have these on-line radio programs that don't pay for copyrights..so the artist falls short again.

Guitfiddlejase Says:

May 12, 2011 - @novanine9 I don't know,I think there are some pretty great American artists...like Erykah Badu for example..I am personally a jazz nazi,so I admit that most "pop" music from the U.S is indeed garbage.(..and "smooth jazz" makes me want to puke) I must agree that art is generally cultivated in a more positive manner in Britain...but you can't tell me that the Beatles didn't get some of their sound from America...if Lennon saw your post-he might bitch slap you and call YOU a Leninist! LOL!

Jul 26, 2011 - ohh because if companies sold good music the public wouldnt buy it -.-

novanine9 Says:

Jul 26, 2011 - - my point is that this video falsely blames the wrong people. The population dictates the music.Brits are just way more sophisticated and open to new sounds. That is what the Brit invasion was all about...taking all of American music and coming up with something new. The Beatles covered motown songs and Rock and Roll songs...and in the end came up with unique soundsTrust me...I'm a Jazz Nazi, myself along with being a recording artist: Getz, Brubeck

Jul 29, 2011 - Who's the shadow guy, behind the curtain, in a hood, with his voice altered, as if he was some Mafia informant in fear for his life? Also, I'm pretty sure that even in the 50s you had stations around the country playing the same rock & Motown hits.

Guitfiddlejase Says:

Aug 6, 2011 - Cool dude...good to meet you!

Nosajjao Says:

Nov 16, 2011 - the only radio i listen to is NPR

Dec 12, 2011 - Could someone let me know what song starts playing at 1:03? Thank You.

Jan 22, 2012 - I see there concerns with radio, but I would argue that file sharing gives modern generations more potential for musical literacy than even 60's children had. File sharing may be immoral (that's a different debate) but it allows you amazing access. I think about Keith Richards talking about how hard it was just to get Muddy Waters albums as a kid. Today I can get his discography in 10 minutes. Modern radio is very annoying but I don't think it's killing this generation as much as they think.

zekesumner Says:

Jan 25, 2012 - lets all start making pirate radio stations
