Title: Archimedes - Marble Roller Coaster
Added: Nov 16, 2009
Author: mdscms
Duration: 5:44
Description:
This is my Balsa-wood coaster, Archimedes - so named because of the 'conveyor belt' that I made to get the marbles to the top. The track is poster board as it was with all my roller coasters. Most sticks are 1/8"x1/8" balsa or bass wood, but the bending railing sticks are 1/4"x1/16". I got the clock motor from my little brother, Kevin, without which, this roller coaster would have never amounted to anything. Thanks Kev!

May 29, 2012 - Physics can be interesting when appled in ways like this.... I'd rather just spend 9 months on Rollercoaster Tycoon 2... which i do, but being able to do this is something you should be, and probably are proud of. Seriously though, you should get that game, if building something like this interests you, then you will NEVER put that game down. :-)

May 29, 2012 - Love the Roller Coaster Tycoons and so do my kids! I wish I had let them try to build their own balsa coaster before showing them the software. Now they'll NEVER build anything with their hands! D'oh! :-)

May 30, 2012 - Believe it or not, I got here via the "My Movie Trailer Guy Impression" video! :-) I saw someone's K'nex coaster video off to the side (don't know what that had to do with "voiceovers"), which in turn led to yours (funny how that happens on the Web). THANK YOU for NOT adding music; it's exciting and visual enough to watch by itself and stands on its own! :-) I'm sure you have many more concepts, but they all requires time and space to construct. Good work; God bless you and your family.
