The agreement guarantees the United States access to Colombian military bases for the next ten years. The event went practically unnoticed in Washington. But it raised a storm of protest from South American governments threatened by the specter of US military intervention in the region. Fault Lines traveled to Colombia to investigate why US access to the bases is a cause for so much consternation.

The US military also said that the deal reached would also allow them to eliminate threats to US interests and give them the ability to deal with unfriendly countries to the US in the region.Since Clinton warned there will be severe consequences if Brazil, Bolivia and Venezuela trade with Iran, do you think your report might be biased?
