It was inspired as a result of the tragic assassination of a South African freedom fighter, Chris Hani, and was played for the first time three days after his death in 1993..... Dave noted on 10.9.94 that he changed the lyrics from "Hani, Hani" to "honey, honey," to fit more with the song's mood.

You know the "Honey, honey..." part in the beginning?It was originally "Hani, Hani" from Chris Hani, I think he was the leader of the communist party in South Africa if I'm not mistaking, and a friend of Daves. But he changed it later because it didn't fit the mood of the song. Yeah, I don't know if the whole song is inspired by that, but at least that part I just told you about.
