May 10, 2012 - No worries, I mean, teachers are people too, they have senses of humour ;) As long as it's respectful, which it sounds like it is.

May 10, 2012 - Remember to say: "O Captain, my Captain" :p

May 10, 2012 - What a great end of a great movie. Perhaps Keating is sad to have lost his job, but he´s so happy to know that he didn´t fail...

May 12, 2012 - The most striking feature of this scene for me is that Todd is scared by the new teacher, like he was at the start before Keating got him to perform his poem. Shows his method works far better at building character.

May 14, 2012 - why thank you haha

May 14, 2012 - I just love the symbolism in this last part, it is almost overwhelmingly amazing at how Todd went from being a sort of timid fellow to wanting to finish what Neil had started. Just absolutely fantastic.

May 19, 2012 - My English 11A (A = advanced if you were wondering lol) is getting fired this year. He's almost like Mr Keating. He's really cool. The principal decided to fire him because she thinks he's not an efficient teacher because he has different ways of teaching his classes. and he has only worked at my school for 3 years! So on the last day of school I'm gonna get everyone to do this as a tribute/thank you before we have to say goodbye to him.

May 24, 2012 - We watched this movie in English class a few months ago for the poetry unit. We did this 2 days ago at the end of class on the last day of school for our English teacher who is taking a teaching position in Singapore next year. We knew that she knew what it meant for us to do this, and she tried not to cry. She was an wonderful, amazing, caring teacher, and we will miss her dearly.Ms. Knueppel- if you're reading this, thank you.
Romeo Juliet Says:
May 25, 2012 - Our English teacher told us how much he loved the part of this movie and how his teaching career would be over if kids ever did this in his class...today we stood up and screamed "o' captain my captain" and he was almost in tears.

May 26, 2012 - best ending to any movie...ever

May 29, 2012 - Well, he played the part of a very insecure teen-ager in this movie.
GeorgiaKev Says:
May 29, 2012 - 0:13. "SIT!" Nolan talked to the students like they were dogs (no surprise, he treated them like dogs, also). Anything wrong with "Good morning, you may be seated." ? Sometimes I feel that Nolan was the bigger villain in this movie than Neil's father.
GeorgiaKev Says:
May 29, 2012 - Yep, a lump grew in my throat as the boys one by one stood up and Keating beamed, but the tears didn't start to flow until Keating uttered those words. That bastard Nolan (the headmaster) had finally met his match.
