Author: campaignforliberty
Duration: 5:13
Description:
On May 25, 2011, Senator Rand Paul responded to Harry Reid's baseless attacks on his opposition to the misnamed "Patriot" Act and reiterated his defense of the Bill of Rights and the American people's privacy.Senator Rand Paul is continuing his efforts to hold Harry Reid accountable to his February promise to allow a full week of debate and open amendments on extending the Patriot Act. In defiance of Senate orders, Sen. Paul brought up three amendments and asked for unanimous consent to allow a discussion and a vote on them. Sen. Reid then personally objected to protecting gun-owners' rights and shut the attempt down. Rand is ensuring that this Patriot Act fight is far from over.Sign the petition to REPEAL the "Patriot" Act here:http://www.chooseliberty.org/patriotact.aspx?pid=fpr1

Jul 22, 2011 - Politics is like trigonometry. Its confusing. You have to sit there and listen to it and the only person that seems to understand it is the indian kid in the front row and the persron in front of the class teaching it.

Aug 14, 2011 - @Helotes420 That comment right there is one of the major problems with this country. You want the govt to bless your marriage? Govt is not a priest, its not your daddy, its not your big brother. Govt has no business around religious ceremonies like marriage. Now if you want to get into the possibilities of a tax break for people raising children for our society, thats a different issue. Rewarding people for declaring their love before god is clearly unconstitutional in the secular US
bosshog7169 Says:
Aug 14, 2011 - @Helotes420 SO you think we need less procreation? then how can you even argue for the govt marriage incentive? that's the way they would argue its secular. You seem to agree that marriage should not be a govt issue, but youre like a baby who sees another baby with a piece of candy and just wants one too w/o thinking. Two wrongs dont make a right n you should be fighting against hetero marriage, not for gay marriage. ALso, Paul believes strongly in civil rights, just differs on govts role in it
bosshog7169 Says:
Aug 14, 2011 - @Helotes420 I think Paul has more important things to do than argue on youtube. You need to try to think about things in less black and white terms. I don't know where this oblivion you speak of is or what you mean by him being done. Try to use some logic here. You can't explain why govt is involved in marriage and on top of that you think we need less incentive for procreation. You don't seem like someone who would be so supportive of govt marriage, use logic.

Sep 25, 2011 - Speaking of ''politics" Rand should've said ":We agree with, or we support the majority of Americans" instead of "Most Americans agree with us" To much of politics is about what I will do for America instead of what the people I represent want me to do.

Oct 16, 2011 - Why such senators with integrity are so rare? Does integrity not worth it?
HandyMan101 Says:
Nov 27, 2011 - @PaulBirken He can't use his brain. To GET Ron and Rand's position on anything requires a logical mind and sound reasoning. He has neither.
rrhynes Says:
Nov 30, 2011 - @Helotes420 I agree about procreation. However, find one politician that advocates population control. Paul is the best there is, not perfect, but the best we have now. Ron may go away, but his son is just starting.
rrhynes Says:
Dec 1, 2011 - @Helotes420 Wow. Glad to know that anyone that is Pro-Queer is on your Christmas list. I don't think a politician should worry about gay rights when the only reason we talk about them is because some politicians think it is the business of government. Rand Paul , like his father, has expressed that he does NOT feel sexual orientation should be determined by the FEds or the STates, but they observe the sovereignity of the states, (constitution) to do so.
rrhynes Says:
Dec 1, 2011 - Good point. Now, show me a politician that actually feels that way.
rrhynes Says:
Dec 1, 2011 - @Helotes420 I used to think like you do, but no longer. I have gay relatives and friends and I think of them and treat them no differently than anyone else. However, you are missing the point these men bring to the foray. Never the less, nobody is proposing we repeal the civil rights act and so the matter is really moot. The problems our country, on the whole, has are far greater , deeper and more menacing than one's opinion about sexual preference.
rrhynes Says:
Dec 1, 2011 - @Helotes420 You have your civil rights act, why are you bitching anyway? Do you blame all of our social ills and economic problems on religious conservatives?
rrhynes Says:
Dec 1, 2011 - It takes away most of their power. When you have a cap on spending, negotiations become tougher and compromises become the norm.
dayadayadaya123 Says:
Dec 3, 2011 - Fucking traitor Harry Reid.
jlettuce07 Says:
Dec 15, 2011 - @Helotes420 I'm pretty sure it's YOU who doesn't understand the nature of rights. Rights are not granted by government mandate, they are inherent to every human being. Therefore, it is not the job of the government to give you your rights, you already have them. They exist. It is in fact a failure of government to PROTECT those rights that causes this problem, and currently, the Pauls are part of a very small faction in government that still work to protect yours.
