Altruism is the true path of freedom, where gradually the ego is replaced by your True Self. It's a matter of perception, and may I have to add that no true altruistic societies have yet existed, only false ones. And yes, altruism is also selfish, because it's based on give --> receive (synergy/abundance). Selfishness is based on receive --> give (scarcity).
