Mar 8, 2012 - This was THE BEST poem ever! I thought this poem was really good because she got into it and she wasn't boring at all. She sounded like she believed what she was saying and that to me makes the poem even better. It also helps that it was funny:) ~Carley J

Mar 24, 2012 - woooo I wrote a poem I'm so fucking clever!I bet that smug bitch has never struggled in her life. I bet she has a nice background and had lots of friends at school. Her poetry is so self-aggrandising I want to punch her in her annoying, chubby face. She is no better than your average hiphop MC, rapping about how many hoes he's fucked and how much money he makes, except in this case shes referring to intelligence. One hell of a concept, well done. Think that up all by yourself?

Mar 24, 2012 - Nope, cause i dont care what people think of me, im a thug who likes poetry, deal with it.

Mar 25, 2012 - I thought this was well written but something about the performance wasn't... genuine? It felt narcissistic and cavalier to me. I know this girl's a grade A and she should be proud of that, but there's something charming about a little self-deprecation and not realising your full potential. This is just babble about being utterly wonderful at everything, but we're all bad at something. Remembering what you're good at reminds us we're special, remembering what we're bad at reminds us we're equal.

Mar 26, 2012 - AWESOME poem Girl! I was expecting it to end with something that rhymes with "true". :-)

Mar 30, 2012 - Despite a few criticisms, the poem was alright but mainly the attitude she delivers it with just seems off... It doesn't give a vibe of intelligence..It seems like she's overdoing and forcing whatever passion she's trying to get across down the audience's throat. Something like this should be more witty and charming or at least a bit softer. Just watching and hearing her like this gives me the impression of some desperate civil rights speech.

Apr 10, 2012 - "You cant teach someone how chocolate taste nor how love feels". Poetry is a feel something art. It is not a know everything art. I understand that this is a 16 year girl so ill be gentle. She took Reed's poem, "i want to hear a poem" and made it about leaving out the majority and focusing on the elite, who, are the future. While she was dropping literary names, she should have googled William Wordsworth. Like watching Elvis try to Juke Joint Jam.... cant teach soul either.

Apr 19, 2012 - I disagree. I think that people who are geniuses, geeks, and nerds have to self depreciate everyday just to fit in to school, work and society. It's nice to feel appreciated and BRAG that you're smart sometimes. And this girl does a GREAT job of getting that across. Sounding mad, annoyed, and proud - just like g,g, & n feel everyday.

Apr 22, 2012 - And I want to write a poem for you but I can cause I'm to ignorant because I was never given a chance to shine. They never saw potential in me so I couldn't learn like you. I was stuck in the back of the room and put down every chance or hope I got was crushed with a deception of reality

May 1, 2012 - I don't know how I feel about this. Slam poetry has, for so long, been a voice for the underrepresented. A poem celebrating privilege that borders on talking down at the marginalized worries me.

May 12, 2012 - Jesus, why is everyone being so overly critical? This was an amazing poem. She's not dissing people who don't get good grades or who don't like to read. She's standing up for those who do, and making a valid point about the future of our country. Notice that most people who commented saying they don't like it have terrible grammar.
