I wish Dawkins would focus more on science, and less on professional opinion having.Yeah, I'm sure he's very personable, er, in person. That only goes so far with me, what I seek out in interacting with people is profundity. I get the feeling that hanging out with dawkins would be a bit like interacting with a well behaved born-again christian.

I actually tend to like Neil deGrasse Tyson for that better, though he and Dawkins share some similar views. Le sigh, when will scientists give up this materialist dogma?

Mar 2, 2011 - I may be wrong here but I think Steven Weinberg, who is a pretty strong atheist, has denounced a strict materialism in "Dreams of a final theory." Look it up yourself if you have time. Maybe it was determinism or positivism, not materialism. I'm not great with all these -isms
