I think the real problem is that the "rap/hip-hop" performers took over ownership, production and promotion of the American music industry. Therefore, no changes in the style of music in years. Only a reahash of the same crap year-in, year-out! Youths have been brainwashed into believeing that music is as good as it gets...now they have to look back to the past for real music! Sad!
