Inward is much more realistic. You can also do a siren note with vibrato and rasp/distortion on it. Although the overdrive helps a lot.

Jan 17, 2012 - There is simply something you guys don't understand. Winslow is REALLY good at what he does. But it's only for entertainment purposes. Mr. Chawes is a real jazz dude and if you analyze what Chawes is actually "playing" you'd understand WHY Chawes is great. But you'd have to have a LOT of knowledges about music (theory) to understand. I don't want to sound condescending I just have a hard time reading the negativ comments. People simply don't really understand what's going on! :-(

Mar 29, 2012 - You are right -- they use dist. pedals. But I don't think that's the most interesting part. It's more WHAT they do with that. Guitar players also use dist. (AND delay etc.) - that's why they can play what they do. Even the great accoustic player Pat Metheny uses delay (and other effects) that make him able to play certain things. Chawes' "guitar-solo" is full of cool notes executed in a great great way. Fast and full of 'tensions' played over altered chord progression. And THAT'S musicianship.
