Feb 22, 2012 - Have people stopped sending intros saying "good morning internet!" ?
Sabin41 Says:
Feb 25, 2012 - Revenge may be irrational, but it makes you feel better, in that way it's kind of like masturbating, ultimately it achieves nothing, but people do it anyway and there is an industry based around it. Honestly, if someone screwed me over hard enough, I wouldn't be the better person, I'd be a complete asshole and it wouldn't weigh on my conscience because the gratification would outweigh the notion of what goes around comes around.

Feb 26, 2012 - Sub for Frankl immediately. Glad I get to see the hottie behind Athene haha.
fugitive247 Says:
Mar 4, 2012 - Preface: I'm not a particularly vengeful individual, however, some despicable types tend to mistake the kindness of others for weakness. With that said, sometimes, the best revenge is to allow a situation to play itself out, often to the detriment of the idiot(s) who started the turmoil in the first place. ;-)

anigamii Says:
Mar 5, 2012 - if he hurt someone and he get hurt as well , the result is two people hurt and the one who started this is less likely to do it again. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth AND the one who start it is MORE guilty :)

May 3, 2012 - Logic is an artificial human construct. The same is true with culture. These abstract concepts hold no weight in the physical world. Logic is another "search for meaning" and is no more 'true" than even the most ludicrous religion.
DeanLeysen Says:
May 3, 2012 - Logic is no more true than any religion? So then conclusions based on logic aren't necessarily more reliable? Prayer is just as effective as believing in gravity, say?Whatever philosophical or intellectual web you want to weave around it, I would be curious to see how far you get in life when you cast aside all logic. To start with, why did you click the Post button after typing your comment? Because you wanted to post, so that was the most logical? Sounds like a leap of faith to me!
TheStudent92 Says:
May 3, 2012 - @DeanLeysen Hold on a sec, Dean. You know that we can say nothing without absolute certainty, because there is no true certainty in life, and that there always remains the possibility that everything we know is wrong or may not even exist. That being said, I understand that doesn't mean to go around discrediting logic at all times, but that does not mean people must place their absolute faith in logic. Logic should not undermine the subjective quest for meaning via illogical ideologies.
FEEDNINEofcl Says:
May 3, 2012 - I think you'll find animals use logic, there are thousands of examples for this. You are incredibly naive to make such a statement.
Br0d3r1ck72 Says:
May 3, 2012 - I see where you're coming from. Logic is an artificial human construct but lots of us don't really see pass that. Logic is the staple, the very core of what I call "human laws". We don't really see pass logic cause we ALMOST always use it to explain our answers on simple to complicated situations. It's just a really hard thing to explain because it requires thinking outside the box to interpret it.
anuragborn2rock Says:
May 3, 2012 - I don't think i agree with you Dean.I think Justice is not just about preventing the same thing from happening to someone else it's also about punishing the guilty. So in a way revenge is justice. However most people in their rage may cause more harm to the guilty than he did to them like someone may kill somebody for stealing so that's why we need a legal system which gives justified punishment. Therefore i don't think revenge is actually wrong.
HiggsyAndGinge Says:
May 3, 2012 - You're talking about logic as though it's a tangible concept though. It isn't really, its just a word applied to choosing the best / most appropriate course of action in a given circumstance.
ANimouz Says:
May 3, 2012 - LOL either Thestudent92 is trolling or he is really that stupid. No offense, but if someone utters such kind of nonsense he is really worthy of this title. If you we didn't follow logic or a "logical order" in whatever we wouldn't even be able to walk. Even animals follow a certain "logic", every living organism follows some kind of logic actually. Otherwise it would simply perish.
clearskies33 Says:
May 3, 2012 - On a deeper level outside of all conditioning TheStudent92 is right. But on the wavelength you're talking about you cast his belief in the midst of more artificial constructs of human decision. He has the same amount of logic to type any sort of comment as you do in posting a video imo.BTW lol at the people trying to defend you without the ability to refute for themselves.
ycuy Says:
May 4, 2012 - Criminals have within them the motivation to lie to you to tell you how much they love you to make you think they are good people that you can trust. But after you have punched the magazine rack and spent thousands of dollars to not quite get back to normal. Your opinion changes from love to hate.
TheStudent92 Says:
May 4, 2012 - @HiggsyAndGinge Yes, but what I'm trying to say that logic is always subjective because we have no guarantee as to what is truly objective. There is no completely external source of knowledge that we can discern or gain access to. One solution is to believe in a deity. Another solution is to throw logic out the window as a fictional construct used to justify why humans need to rationalize their actions. I personally believe in God, but their are serious questions of relevance for those who dont
thebrosnhoes Says:
May 7, 2012 - ofcourse logic has connections with the physical world. go cross a busy road and if you make it to the otherside you must be doing somthing right.
atacamamaster Says:
May 21, 2012 - an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind...
