Description:
John Frusciante - This ColdAlbum: Shadows Collide With People (2004)Shadows Collide with People is the fourth studio album by John Frusciante, released February 24, 2004. The album was written during the recording of By the Way, and is widely regarded as his most accessible work, featuring a mix of guitar-driven alternative rock, folk ballads, and electronica. Frusciante has stated that this was his most expensive album to date, costing around $150,000 to produce.Flea plays a double bass on "The Slaughter", the closing track of the album. All tracks were written by John Frusciante and the majority of the vocal work is performed by him.Frusciante also made acoustic and demo versions of these tracks available to fans through his official site, now only a blog, as an alternative to the highly produced sound of the record. A promo version of the album was also made, with the tracks "Omission", "Song to Sing When I'm Lonely", and "Failure 33 Object".The album reached number 191 on the Billboard 200 and #11 on Heatseekers. On the vinyl release of the album the words "One step away" were inscribed on side A, "There's riddles in the shadows" on side B, "A hint of sadness" on side C, and '"What they least suspect is coming next" on side D. All of these were hints to lyrics on John's next solo album The Will to Death.1. Carvel [4:14]2. Omission [4:34]3. Regret [2:58]4. Ricky [3:57]5. Second Walk [1:42]6. Jan 31, 2012 - Probably one of my top 3 songs by John - such a well written, beautifully constructed song. The guitar is great and the bass is kickin' the whole time! I wish it wasn't so short though :(

Feb 4, 2012 - I want to know who is responsible for this SICK bassline! is it flea?
Thhrbsmk Says:
Feb 7, 2012 - Yes. Flea and Chad(drummer from RHCP) played bass and drums respectively. Josh K also played guitar and other backing instruments on the album.

Feb 15, 2012 - Frusciante is unbelievable. His music has so much emotion and inspiration in it. So talented.. Have a listen to one of our songs: 'Lucid- Colourful'?
The0Pigman Says:
Feb 19, 2012 - @Thhrbsmk @djelectric It actually is Josh Klinghoffer who is responsible for this sick bass line. Although it is Chad on drums for the whole album, Flea only appears on one track, The Slaughter.

Feb 28, 2012 - When I listen to Frusciantes voice I know excactly why I hate Kiedis that much ... espacially with this song. Flea, Smith, Klinghoffer & Frusciante would be a fucking hell of a band!
WoswiFrusciante Says:

DaXBLscumbag94 Says:
Apr 10, 2012 - Are you being serious here? Fair enough that you hate AK but do you honestly think they would have succeeded if he wasn't in the band?
IrregularJohnny Says:
Apr 11, 2012 - I don't care about the success of a band. In fact, Frusciante left them, when they got successful back in 1994 or so. I want to listen so music I like and if I'm the only fan, it's ok for me.Which not means, that I don't tollerate you as maybe a fan of Kiedis. Music was and still is a subjective thing and it's rating or it's quality a question of taste.
escutaai Says:
Apr 16, 2012 - Excuse me for being nosy, but you started with this "hate" thing. Anthony Kiedis is fantastic, and the chili peppers wouldn't be the chili peppers without him. Please, show some respect for this guy. PS.: I love Frusciante too.
funsizebeaner Says:
Apr 19, 2012 - agreed
DaXBLscumbag94 Says:
May 7, 2012 - you just took that out of context. I'm not saying anything about music in general. In fact I feel the same way about it. I listen to bands or soloists, people have not even heard of. I don't care whether a band is successful or not. It's the music they play that is physically and mentally connecting that's matters most to me. Take my comment in whatever manner you please but please don't think I only listen to "successful" bands. I listen to the chilis because I like them and I like their singer
