Feb 11, 2012 - How come people had such a better understanding of harmony and melody in the 80's. Could it have something to do with the better standards of education in the 70's when they were at school?

nzoz1983 Says:

Feb 13, 2012 - they worked their arses off in the 70's... Jenny Morris was about 27 years old when this came out... she had just left kiwi band the Crocodiles. The guitarist of this band is an ex-member of Air Supply. No sampling nor fruity loops back then.

EquinoxGT Says:

Mar 7, 2012 - As I have said before, each generation of music has had it's good songs and bad song, I get tired of seeing comments about how terrible the music is today compared to a different decade. It's all a matter of looking and seeking it out, and from alot of the music I have found it is so well blended together from other genres and decades of sound they have no definitive genre and are not restricted by boundaries. That in itself is what music is and suppose to be.

TheGmgirl77 Says:

Mar 23, 2012 - It was just better back then deal with the facts OK??? Lmao!

DidntKnowWhatToPut1 Says:

Mar 24, 2012 - The air of superiority around you is painful.

DidntKnowWhatToPut1 Says:

Mar 24, 2012 - I'm with you on that. People like to think their taste in music gives them a higher sense of self-importance.

tismselfstorage Says:

Mar 30, 2012 - I agree, but what people really mean when they say "It was so much better in MY day" is "I'm old and I feel irrelevant". Personally I'm fine with saying WTF IS SKRILLEX. I had my day and it was awesome, the kids will soon be 40 years old and saying "I don't understand all these macrobiotic beats, in my day we had AutoTune AND WE LIKED IT".

EquinoxGT Says:

Mar 30, 2012 - Ah, trust me it's that too. I tend to forget that sometimes, but I hear some of these younger folk saying this as well for past generations, and many of them don't seem to understand not all music is created equal or in good taste regardless of time period which is the reason for my previous comment. And indeed, many of them will be saying the same thing about music being better in their day and age once they hit that 30-40 yr mark. :P

downunderdemocrat Says:

Apr 20, 2012 - Early 80's Stalker song.

Apr 26, 2012 - TEMAZO!!

ozvoxhumana Says:

May 18, 2012 - As someone who was a teen in the 80s, it's a fact there was an AWFUL lot of crap music. Of course with time all of that rubbish gets forgotten, and the good stuff that remains leads us to think it was ALL amazing. It wasn't. However what was good, was VERY good.

Zeddington Says:

May 19, 2012 - Great song and quality.

EquinoxGT Says:

May 21, 2012 - I completely agree with that, it's going to be the same with the last two decades and the current one.
