Apr 17, 2011 - Lol - it's takes time getting used to. It's good if you've had experience in other programs like 3DSMax then you'll know. Trust me Maya is a very powerful program most of the big animated movie like Toy Story three use Maya. So, take you're time and play around with the controls and please of you want a tutorial I'll make you one. And don't worry about rendering just yet not even I'm very good with that..... so don't up.

May 28, 2011 - im moving from blender to maya. but now, i'm just going to do all the modelling in blender. maya looks like a pain to model because you have to go to complicated menus to even find the extrude button, where in blender you would've done it on your keyboard. :(

Mar 19, 2012 - Is this the 2012 version of Maya?
PLCPhreak Says:
Mar 23, 2012 - In Maya 2012, you must have the Polygon menu set selected in order to obtain the "Edit Mesh" button on the Main Menu Bar. Generally speaking : Any time you aren't able to find a particular menu item, always check your menu set selection to insure you are working with the correct menu elements. I hope this helps you in your endeavour to learn Maya 2012.
PLCPhreak Says:
Mar 23, 2012 - Select the "Polygons" menu set and you will get the "Edit Mesh" button in the Main Menu Bar. :-)
PLCPhreak Says:
Mar 23, 2012 - Maya is "workflow - centric". As you develop structured workflows in your modelling efforts in Maya, you will quickly begin to see how UN-complicated the menus actually are.Maya is the industry leader for very good reasons. Structured workflows are just one of the many reasons.
