Oct 25, 2011 - Video seems sped up from the original

ronfowlermusic Says:

Nov 24, 2011 - Everyone talks about Robbie, but I just watched this film earlier tonight, and I think Rick is the real star. Just sings with so much feeling, and his bass playing (along with Levon's drumming) really drives the band. They're all great, though, truly a unit. Garth is just an amazing musician, and I like Robbie's playing because he doesn't overplay, he plays what suits the song.

bongrocker Says:

Nov 26, 2011 - Rick Danko not only has the best stage presence (sorry, Levon), but also the best rock star name. Mr. Danko, I hope you're jamming with the legends in the afterlife.

bongrocker Says:

Nov 26, 2011 - Levon is my drum hero.

ronfowlermusic Says:

Nov 26, 2011 - yeah, Levon has a totally unique drum style/sound. Great singer, too. It's just mind boggling the talent that was in The Band. I love the parts of the film where Levon is talking about music, he's just a natural in front of the camera, no show biz airs from Levon.

FourStrung Says:

Dec 9, 2011 - Rest In Peace Buddy. Haldimand/Norfolk for the win.

Dec 24, 2011 - This really was THE Band...

victoriaChristensen8 Says:

Jan 1, 2012 - They dont make musicians like them anymore. Rick Danko and Richard Manual will always be true gentlemen and 2 of the finest musicians I ever met!!!!

TheLazZzar Says:

Jan 13, 2012 - lmfao robbie along with slowhand, Garcia, hendrix are the original guitar players that made guitar what it is today if you where born back then you wouldn't know or play shit... this is one of the worst ideas on the internet. also you wouldn't have the talent on the guitar like you do now.

almai989 Says:

Jan 27, 2012 - Hi hi! Have you seen the book Public Speaking for Frankenstein ? I got some useful advice from it and afterwards delivered a show without trouble.

Quantzification Says:

Feb 1, 2012 - If you like The Band check out "The Silver Rollers". Wicked new group!

dancingirl11 Says:

Apr 18, 2012 - OMG it doesn't get much better than this!

sweetfly66 Says:

Apr 20, 2012 - wow .... i think you have it backwards man .... 80`s guitar playing is cheezy , obnoxious , and unmusical .... those 80`s shredders did little more than musically masturbate themselves .. just a bunch of scales and modes inflicted upon below average chord changes .... people who really know how to write music and play guitar include Robbie Robertson , Eric Clapton , George Harrison , Jimi Hendrix , Keith Richards , Jack White , Jimmy Page , Johnny Marr ... i know i am forgetting some , sorry

jazzmasterjesus Says:

Apr 20, 2012 - first off my original post was over a year ago, troll something more recent. second of all I am not a fan of "80's shredding music" where did you even get that assumption? third, a year ago, when I mentioned that, I was saying compared to even the people you've nicely listed (who infact are some of my all time favorite players) that Robbie sounds choppy, and he almost uses his bridge pickup exclusively, and imo doesn't have the conception of tone that those other brilliant guitar players did.

jazzmasterjesus Says:

Apr 20, 2012 - and fourth, how dare you troll on this board instead of recognizing Levon Helm (R.I.P). The other 12 negative responses I got (over the last year) were fine... but why now? leave it alone! a hero just died.

cuprillc2 Says:

Apr 20, 2012 - Robertson looks like he could be the 3rd Van Halen brother. Anyone w/ me?

Staggerbaroque Says:

Apr 21, 2012 - Jazzmasterjesus speaks the truth. Robertson always was a better songwriter than a soloist. HIs solo on "Ophelia" is tentative.

SocceRockerFOSHO Says:

Apr 30, 2012 - Danko should have sang more, he has a HEAVENLY voice. My heart flips when I listen to this song. Anybody with me?

alcest35 Says:

May 3, 2012 - Rick Danko had an amazingly unique voice and an incredibly quirky style of phrasing that was just so very appealing. Actually, I've been listening to him singing almost all day today on MOG... I don't believe he ever sang any song exactly the same way twice, so every single performance was a beautiful one of a kind gem. A true vocal artist.

dancingirl11 Says:

May 5, 2012 - I get chills when I hear this song!

pepper4950 Says:

May 10, 2012 - a band of magicians....every fuckin one of them!

spectrum7virkeytroni Says:

May 13, 2012 - Rick Danko has always been one of my all-time favorite voices! I can't think of another voice with similar qualities.

alexvizca5 Says:

May 19, 2012 - Garth Hudson, the mad genious of the Lowrey...
