The higher the compression ratio the more oxygen molecules are available for combustion, which means you can burn more fuel. More fuel + more air = more power. As a side effect the water also helps keep the engine cool and creates steam which adds even more thrust. There's only enough water for a couple minute long burst of power at takeoff

As for the rest of your rant, many political groups are financed/assisted by countries or organizations in the hopes that they can be influenced to "do the right thing", but then turn on their former supporters when they gain power. All four engines maxed out as the water poured and the ground shook. They'd drop below line of sight at the end of the runway and s l o w l y fight their way into the sky.
