Jun 17, 2010 - these haunting solo that were phenomenal and people talk about him and his music during these times with no clue as to what was going on in his very private, very personal spiritual life. HINT: That a man can be as strong as me-----is a direct insight into his spiritual/physical life.

Jun 18, 2010 - I'm sorry, but I didn't find that "haunting"

Jul 14, 2010 - Feel free to post up your music from the last four decades. We will weigh them against Jerry's.
Stagerli Says:
Jul 22, 2010 - it was jerry barely being able to rip anything. Longtime head here and i didnt do the last tour in 95 because the prior tours were torture. Today i am sorry i missed it but it was the only tour i missed since 77. The music was just was constantly meandering to nowhere as did this jam you have here. Listen to this then listen to ripping fires from 78 come on?? It is sad very sad . Man i miss Jer but not this Jer.

Aug 5, 2010 - I kinda see what you mean by haunting, this an upbeat song and it does have a very poignant crying, moaning, wailing sound top it

Aug 10, 2010 - The line in Black Peter that I believe you're referring to is "that a man can be as poor as me."

Aug 19, 2010 - Haunting because this dissonant sound is clearly not intended and shows you how Jerry's playing had deteriorated in the last 1 1/2 years - in fact to such an extent that even the rest of the band couldn't save some of these solos from ending in disaster. I agree wholeheartedly with Stagerli's comment below.

Aug 19, 2010 - Absolutely correct - I couldnt agree more

Aug 22, 2010 - I'm not sure that even counts as a solo, but I'm glad you can find the beauty in it, whatever it is. It brings a tear to my eye . . . and I'll just leave it at that

Sep 5, 2010 - even though he had deteriorated so much that he could barely rip anymore, he still has that special sounds in his solos that no one can come close to

Sep 9, 2010 - thank the heavens for improvisation. I think Jer was reflecting back what was happening in the scene. I went to my fair share of shows and 94-95 was a dark era. Can't say things have lightened up since. He put his heart into every last drop of music and played pretty much regardless of health. I give him credit for doing what he loves until the end. If it made others or you sad to watch that happen, that's life, get used to it.

Sep 10, 2010 - That's not soloing. That's awful. Poor Jerry, poor band and poor audience. The late 90's really were not a time to listen to the Dead.

Sep 10, 2010 - Garcia...Very Gifted.

Sep 12, 2010 - *Ack* ! Why did I click on this ? This was such an *awful* time for Jerry.... He's on his death bed and still playing... God bless you, Mr. Garcia, for all the magical times you provided for me and my friends... I will NEVER forget you....
