May 1, 2012 - Just wanted to comment about what you said about the green concealer... To my knowledge, a good concealer is not meant to blend out coz then it would have no effect. You are however, meant to blend your foundation with it if that makes sense? So basically you're not supposed to be able to see it anymore after applying your foundation. I don't have the NYC green concealer myself so can't really judge it. This is just what i know about green concealers :)

May 3, 2012 - i've never owned a green concealer, but as far as I know you are supposed to use normal concealer over it. :)

May 19, 2012 - Uggg NYC makes me break out so I don't wear it but it's sooooo cheap and some of the things a lot of people like it gets me really annoyed -:/
Rosejarmon Says:
May 26, 2012 - Concealer application varies. Some put it under while I and my other cosmetic coworkers put concealer on top of foundation. I think she meant what I prefer to do -- layering it on top and blending the edges out on top of foundations possibly until the edges disappear.
Trish9007 Says:
May 27, 2012 - She said that when she was blending it out it continued to have a green appearance. If you want to neutralize redness with a green concealer it is best to put it under your foundation. That way, the concealer will cover the redness and the foundation will cover the green appearance. Shouldn't you and your 'cosmetic workers' know this?
Rosejarmon Says:
May 27, 2012 - I was speaking for myself and my fellow cosmetic counter managers. The department store brands we manage and sell do not contain any green concealers -- all of our brands contain foundations and concealers (some specifically for redness and rosacea sufferers) that are not green. I did not think there was a big difference between flesh-tone and green concealers but I GUESS there is so pardon me. If you walk into a department store cosmetic area, that is what they will tell you about concealing
Rosejarmon Says:
May 27, 2012 - And since we don't carry any brands that have green concealers -- I lack with application experience. The only green concealing product I am only personally familiar with is what our store's Clinique counter carries and they have a green protective base w/ SPF for rosacea customers that magically fades into the skin so it can be worn alone or applied on top of foundation throughout the day if someone suffers an irritating redness flare up.
Trish9007 Says:
May 27, 2012 - So you said you think she meant what you prefer to do, even though you have never used a green concealer? When i go to a department store cosmetic area, i never ask for advice. And you just proved to me that i shouldn't. They will tell me that there is no big difference between different concealers but that they have products that magically work just to sell them...
Rosejarmon Says:
May 27, 2012 - Again I was speaking about general concealer application & was not specifically referring to green concealer application.& about you and your department store advice usage -- to each their own and that is your prerogative.I don't know how your department store counters differ from America but I can vouch for the triple one I manage (Clarins, Carol's Daughter &Fashion Fair) that, at least, I don't just try to sell to sell. That is just dishonest.
Rosejarmon Says:
May 27, 2012 - Part 2: If I just try to sell a customer anything, you will be right back in to return the product because it doesn't work. The dept store I work for has a very LAX return policy which is why I don't sell to just sell.Customers who are just sold anything return for refunds.I admitted in my previous comment that I didn't think there was a difference and that was ignorant. There is a difference between brands, product types and not only that there are differences w/ customers & their needs.
Trish9007 Says:
May 28, 2012 - I didn't say that YOU sell just to sell. I don't know you, so i can't judge. But in majority of stores, assistants have to promote their products and say good things about them no matter the quality. And that's their job. I don't know how your store works, but most have a sales target that they need to reach and I don't think they ever would if they were so honest about all the products they sell. If yours is different then you have my respect.
Trish9007 Says:
May 28, 2012 - And since she was reviewing a green concealer and i have commented about a green concealer, it was fair for me to think that you were talking about a green one too. You should have specified what you meant a little bit more. I was just sharing some of my knowledge that i gained at college.
Rosejarmon Says:
May 28, 2012 - Thanks. The store I work for is pretty hardcore about customer service.& they motivate us to not sell to sell. That doesn't mean there aren't other chains out there that are the cars salesmen that just want to make a buck because they are.But thankfully where I work we are graded on customer satisfaction & our return rates.& gradually our superiors weed out the ones (in all departments) that have high return rates & #s. I am kind of thankful for our lax return policy because it keeps me honest =]
