David's real name is David Jones, like the guy from the Monkees,so he changed his name and started the rumor about his sexuality,. The times were far different then,people in the music industry weren't so obsessed with image above all, and a bit of controversy was good if it made an artist more noticeable. As for being a paedo,I've never heard that and I've heard all about Bowie.

My older brother was very into Bowie in the early '70s,so I pretty much grew up listening to that,as well as learning a lot about hem. His ex wife's remarks regarding David's actions then have largely been seen as weak attempts at trying to get some of his fame is all. As for who's gay in the music industry,Bowie's the very least of them.
