Aug 25, 2010 - The Walt Disney World Monorail System transports 150,000 people a day. Also, this is the first accident in which someone was killed since they began operation 38 years ago (39 now, 38 at time of accident). Cars wreck everyday and people die. Are they not scary?

Oct 19, 2011 - The system is not automated, there are "pilots" in the front of the monorail, and after the accident, they now have "spotters" in the back. As for the track, and MAPO system, several people control that, and also switch the tracks. It is not automated.
