Dec 7, 2011 - Don't normal new pianos cost somewhere in the $10,000 range? Unless you're talking about those electric little Yamaha pianos that you put batteries into, lol.

Dec 8, 2011 - No they do not. An upright piano could cost you as little as, completely free. They very frequently come up on craigslist and the owners often only ask you move and haul it yourself. That would require a small tuning fee afterwards, less 100 dollars depending on who you use and as high as 300. Most newly tuned pianos should be tuned twice though. A new piano? As little as a thousand or so. Piano is the most reproducable sound though so buying electric is perfectly acceptable.

Dec 8, 2011 - >> Again as I said, the sound of a piano is very easy to reproduce, even low end models do a fairly good job of it. A high end electric piano, such as the clavinova can produce it a sound similar to that of a real piano it would be unlikely for you to notice the difference in tonal quality. New clavinovas run a few grand and are acceptable for small concerts. Grand pianos are the only ones usually in the 10-50grand (new steinway) max range. Cheap since it'll last 100yrs+/w care

Dec 9, 2011 - Now on to the ipad clarinet app!

Dec 9, 2011 - well it is not really, I don't know you but I can spot a HUGE difference between any acoustic piano and a electric piano. I know this because I had clavinova and now switched to a real one. In the same way that a pickup could never capture the real tone of an acoustic guitar same goes for pianos too. When you play something for a few years you can spot that huge difference very quickly. However I think for a cost of 3 ipads inst a good electric piano would be: money well spent.

Dec 9, 2011 - haha , there is a piano on iPad now , for what ? For fun ? well maybe... but try to play Rachmaninov on the iPad then after some minuts try to play it on the real piano , what you see ?Let me guess , you can't even play the 1st 3 chords lmao (sorry for my english)
