Sep 11, 2010 - Short distance that is fine. Casts over 40ft you have to teach an abrupt stop. Like you are running into a wall. The more creep your hand has the bigger tailout you will get. For casting streamers i use a side arm cast ( I am sure just about everyone does this too, i am just writing becuase i need practice typing....) and try to keep my loops big for short casts and half as big for long casts.

Oct 5, 2010 - I actually believe it's called a temple cast. Being a fisherman myself, I'm pretty sure there is a way to do a back cast bringing your rod past the vertical, were as you would move your forearm partially back with the rod. But, thank you for the mending tip. I usually let the line drift, and i still catch fish. But, this will help.thank you!
