Aug 8, 2009 - You haven't seen the film. What happens is: the father walks off, we think he's angry, but actually he walks all the way to Billy's dance instructor's house, knocking on her door, asking her how much it will cost to get Billy to the royal ballet academy! See this was the first time he actually saw Billy dance, he immediately realized his son was incredibly talented so for the rest of the film the dad is focused on helping his son fulfill his dream and make something of himself. Beatiful! See it!

Nov 5, 2009 - I did too, and I had forgotten what a truly beautiful thing it was. I just watched it on DVD for the first time in years tonight. Everything is perfect: the cinematography, the editing, the soundtrack, the acting and most of all the amazingly free and graceful dancing. The "artistic struggle" indeed!
