Dec 6, 2011 - You do realize that your experience doesn't mean everyone who buys an Audi has the same one right?
alexgd0193 Says:
Dec 12, 2011 - @sab0nesBut that is true with any car make, model, etc. Every person's experience is a bit different. Every car is a bit different.
sab0nes Says:
Dec 12, 2011 - Yes but Lexus and Toyota are known for their reliability. They didn't get that reputation by accident, did they?I love german cars and especially the M3, but no way would I buy one sans warranty, they are unreliable cars, everyone who has owned one knows that. That doesn't mean they are not great cars. If I ever own one, I am gonna still keep my Accord.
alexgd0193 Says:
Dec 15, 2011 - @sab0nesThat is where you're stereotyping. Its the standard "all German cars are unreliable." How many have you owned? I can tell you this, my family is big into Hondas, Toyotas, etc. and I have had plenty of experience with those types of cars. So far, I have driven two accords, two civics, an integra, a tC, a Focus, a F-150, an Explorer, and a 325i. Mostly though, the Integra and the 325i. My experience with the Integra (which is supposed to be the reliable car) was terrible...
sab0nes Says:
Dec 15, 2011 - I never said "ALL" German cars are unreliable. All I am saying is that Japanese cars like Toyotas are known for their reliability, German cars are not. of course reliabllty is based somewhat on how much you maintain your car. German cars are way more expensive to maintain because the parts need to be imported.I've owned several cars, from VW to MB to BMW to Audi. My father owned a auto repair shop for 30+ years so I know what I am talking about. Why are you taking it personally?
sab0nes Says:
Dec 15, 2011 - Like I said, your experience might be unique. But in general Japanese cars are more reliable. Google JD Power or Consumer reports. The most reliable cars are Japanese.
sab0nes Says:
Dec 15, 2011 - Maybe a better term than unreliable is "less reliable"
alexgd0193 Says:
Dec 15, 2011 - The Integra was an all-around bad car. The build quality was poor and the car broke down on me three times in a year, all of which were times when I needed it to run. So when I got a new car I bought an E36 325i and it is far better. Not only is the build quality far better (from the interior to the exterior) but it hasn't broken down once. And as my 325i approaches 225,000 miles, my brothers Civic approaching 195,000 has been in the shop 3 times in the past 6 months...
alexgd0193 Says:
Dec 15, 2011 - The point is you can't assume that because a car is from one country that it automatically fits the stereotypes. My brothers car is supposed to be one of the most reliable cars on the planet but its broken down on him more times than my BMW has, and my car has an extra 35,000 miles on it. Realistically, the reliability of a car is determined by how the owner takes care of it. Any car can run for decades with the right care. To rule a car "unreliable" without any experience is nonsense.
alexgd0193 Says:
Dec 15, 2011 - Also, if you check you'll find that the M3 was voted BMW's most reliable 3-series car. And I have a few friends with M3s and they run fine. As long as you take care of them and stay in the habit of doing regular maintenance, they should run for a long time. Now if you want to talk about the expense of maintaining different cars, that is a whole different story. But cost of maintenance and reliability aren't the same.
alexgd0193 Says:
Dec 15, 2011 - @sab0nesI didn't intend for that to sound like I was taking it personally, I'm just trying to show how my experiences are different than what is assumed. In my experience, Hondas have been less "reliable" than a BMW. I know JD Power will say otherwise, but that is what I am arguing against. I don't think cars can be judged on reliability (except for the first 30,000 miles) because it really comes down to the owners care.

Mar 7, 2012 - Rs4 a better car cause you could drive all winter isf will sit in garage if your gonna spend 40,000 plus on a used car and can't drive it all year round what's the use
civoreb Says:
Mar 12, 2012 - The Passat shares the chassis with the A4 and the Jetta/Golf share the chassis with the A3, but for lexus and toyota, all their cars share chassis with each other..so you re pretty much buying a over priced toyota.
doluss Says:
Mar 13, 2012 - well Lexus is wanna be BWM/Mercedes. i don't like it's design neither.
reggiebush1990 Says:
Mar 19, 2012 - hmm i wont have any friends then, can i have the m3 ???
IncredibleMrE84 Says:
Mar 29, 2012 - This dude is tripping, first of all how do you even compare an Audi to a Lexus! Lexus is just an over priced Toyota! When you see someone in an Audi, Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, VW you already have that feeling of respect. I'll buy my TV, Nintendo or Phone from Japan but my car is always German.
Rosewood Goode Says:
Mar 30, 2012 - This is an insult to even compare a AUDI to a lexus Germans make the best vehicles by far, if anything you'd have a better chance comparing the lexus with a go-kart
bludetrade Says:
May 7, 2012 - Audi is an over price vw...gosh..tt and beatle have the same te same cars..one for girls and one for boys...lol
bludetrade Says:
May 7, 2012 - It is an insult to compare an audi to lexus..I see audi as kia...it was crap a few years ago and they make decent cars..just like kia. The turn around at kia is actually faster and better..lol
kodylokster Says:
May 8, 2012 - Can't compare the two. Audi's awd and the Lexus is rwd. Should of compare Lexus with the BMW m3. The only thing that could be compare is that they have 4 doors, the color is blue, and they're overpriced. Hehe

Nov 30, 2011 - HAHAHAHAhonda12345678 has replied to your comment on Shoot Out - Lexus IS-F vs. Audi RS4:"@s4junkie The worst toyota product is more reliable than any vw(audi) i've ever witnessed. The only difference is the rich folk that drive audi's do know much about cars to begin with so they're happy with the car while it gets fixed several times under warranty a year."WTF? MY Audi has only gone in for routine maintenance and I'm at 50k now. SMART shoppers know how to research BEFORE they buy.
