Jun 5, 2010 - I do Wing Chun, and I have no fucking idea what the hell is JKD other then it stands for Jeet Kune Do which is invented by Bruce Lee and uses concepts instead of techniques. Well, can anyone tell me why should you be touching your head with your palm when you elbow somebody? Anyways keep up the good work.

HomasterX Says:
Apr 6, 2011 - master wong's JKD is using the JKD principle but not strictly using the original Jan Fan JKD invented by Bruce Lee, read bruce lee's tao of jeet kune do and you'll fully understand what its all about.
HomasterX Says:
Apr 6, 2011 - JKD essentially is mixed martial arts, and I mean that by mixing martial arts and cross train into a system that works for you, Master Wong has taken that principle and use what he believes is best for combat and so far it looks very effective. I mean I wouldn't be surprised if I say that I recognise he's using some Baji Quan moves here n there with those elbows and they are simplified down.
HomasterX Says:
Apr 6, 2011 - the original Jan Fan system of Jeet Kune Do is translated directly as the way of the intercepting fist, strictly speaking including the trapping elements of wing chun, certain punches from wing chun, boxing, wrestling and some BJJ and simplified down with directness being its main objective. and using the stepping of western fencing...that is what bruce lee believed work for him and his idea of JKD, master wong has his adaptation in his system.
ExczSanityz Says:
Apr 7, 2011 - I never knew Bruce added BJJ elements into it lol. Maybe you can enlighten me about it.
HomasterX Says:
Apr 7, 2011 - if you watch the movie "dragon" which is bruce lee's biography movie made by his wife and a few other production people you'll see accuratly what JKD included, the Tao of Jeet Kune Do book also had indication on what he used for JKD as a complete fighting system but his one is Jan Fan in specific.
ExczSanityz Says:
Apr 7, 2011 - I'll check it out.

Jul 18, 2011 - nice shot!

Dec 9, 2011 - this is complicated and beautiful to watch, practical no. Some stuff is but all that spinning, dropping down to the floor, etc. Come on.
DaPhilthyDog Says:
Jan 3, 2012 - Nice! It shows just how effective the elbow can be if properly used or if the hand is injured. You can easily hurt or break your hand punching the face and this shows the use of the elbow if that should happen. Of course this isn't for beginners but it gives you a good concept to keep the elbow in mind if you need another option to strike with.

Mar 3, 2012 - i like the comment reading the book you learn the style incorperates what works for the INDIVIDUAL person bruce's idea was what works for me may not work for you if not we find something that does work for you
