May 11, 2012 - Holy crap this metal and rachmaninoff debate is still going on. Even comparing them makes one dumber than how classical fans depict metal fans so... yeah, kinda ironic lol.

May 12, 2012 - I listen to Brahms, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Beethoven etc.But also Metallica, Pantera, Judas Priest, Sepultura etc.And Led Zep, Jimmy Hendrix, The Scorpions, AC/DC etc.And even Skrillex, Bare Noize, Knife Party, Justice, Madeon etc.And so many more different style of music. So saying that you must be secluded to a certain kind of music, is just a narrow-minded opinion which is one of the reason the world is so f*cked up nowadays.

May 15, 2012 - I hate all these arguments about which genre of music is the best, EVERY genre of music has something good about it, and the more you listen to, the more you'll enjoy music as a whole and broaden your knowledge! you mightn't like every genre entirely, but hey you won't know until you've had a taste!

May 18, 2012 - i play this with feet (easily) when i'm washing my teeth...XD
fritstube Says:
May 18, 2012 - I think He and Prokofiev are the only two examples in music history of great composers recording their own concerto!
fritstube Says:
May 18, 2012 - Today, I learned that the great singer Dietrich Fischer Diskau died (R.I.P). I read that composers specially wrote for him to suit his voice. Rachmaninov did not need anyone to compose for him to suit his piano style, he did it himself!
Hjominbonrun Says:
May 19, 2012 - Yes, there are exceptionally listenable music regardless of era.In this statement, I exclude rap. you know, the absence of melody and all.Of course, this i my highly subjective opinion. And when I mention "our" era, I mean John Williams and Hans Zimmer, not Bieber and NKOTB.
Hjominbonrun Says:
May 19, 2012 - the ease at which he puts this one away is frightening. And sounds so natural.
shrerstreis Says:

May 24, 2012 - listening to this music get to one clear thought. Only Russians currently have the Lost paradise, have a dream of lost paradise. And it`s a serious thing. And the scale of our grudge is huge. And the beauty of the lost paradise is unbelievable and incomparable.

May 28, 2012 - Why are they always people fighting in the comment ?This is awsome ! Rachmaninov is awsome !
danukenator123 Says:
May 28, 2012 - I disagree, the statement that metal has very little texture changes only shows ignorance of metal music. I don't mind if you don't like it, that's an opinion and yours to have. But to say metal doesn't have shifts in the qualities of the sound is just wrong. Listen to Dream Theater, Symphony X, Mastodon's third album, and on and on. Sure, some Metal is all heavy but some classical music is overly haughty. I wouldn't condemn the whole genre based on the few.
opiumtea1984 Says:
May 29, 2012 - i am a huge fan of all sorts of music but this is the best music ever made listen to the whole concerto the best music ever made he is a genius. his first piano concerto is also brilliant. he composed it when he was 18.
LukeSkywarp Says:
May 29, 2012 - I'm a progressive heavy metal guitarist, but I still have to bow down to the master. No one would think music like this can be so inspiring to heavy metal. You da man Rachmaninov!!! If it wasn't for neo-classical like this metal would probably suck.... Rock on Rachmaninov......
DeltaAnt1000 Says:
May 29, 2012 - I think this is more of a late Romantic Era piece. Neoclassical can be much more random...than this.

Euan Tough Says:
May 10, 2012 - I'd love to know if you've ever listened to a vast array of Metal music. It comes in many different varieties spanning from tech metal, hardcore, heavy metal...etc. I recommend you listen to the brilliant album Colors by Between the Buried and Me, and try to explain how that doesn't layer different and complex textures. There is a lot of elitism in Classical music, which is outrageous, all music has its moment. Peace! x
