Jun 12, 2011 - Depends on the connector, shine a light on it, magnify it if need be. Some slide in while others snap on with female/male connectors, still others involve a thin plastic clasp that snaps up or down, down it's locking with pressure, up, you can slide the ribbon into it's mating board connector freely. Same style used on laptops, but be careful, there's rarely enough wiggle room to get them on secure!

That's the hardest part, aligning all gears, so when the tray is out, it's at the extent of travel and can safely reverse the same distance

Jul 17, 2011 - Mine still has issues now with three different tape swaps since I bought it,. I advise when it starts to act up, keep a tape in there, if you do change tapes, use the door to trigger the mech, use only AC power and pull the power when you need to as well as hit the RESET switch, You can coax the tray back down by changing the tactics that normally trigger the tape mechanism, ON OFF switch, batt to the terminal or AC to terminal jack, and the main cassette outer hatch
