They do require a higher intelligence and love to confuse the common viewer and make you think and hopefully relate to yourself. If you don't enjoy it most likely you can't relate to it though that is the same with most music.

May 18, 2012 - Nice. I have the film and its one of the most surreal things out there. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to see the closest thing to a nightmare on film you can get. But you fail if you don't watch it all in one sitting.
