If we put a Ming Dynasty warrior in the Octagon with Brock Lesnar he would get knocked out. If we put Brock Lesnar on a ancient Chinese battle field, he would get stabbed/blown up by Ming warriors. Kung fu has undergone some changes in the last hundred years thanks to white people and movies.Thaiclinch a Shaolin monk, he'll rip your thoat out...

If you ask me, Krav Maga would be the only practical form of single martial arts in regards to warfare and the kind of hand to hand combat you are speaking of. Also, how often does a kungfu practitioner get to actually 'rip a throat out' vs how often an MMA fighter knocks another fighter out or chokes him out etc? Kung fu is a beautiful Martial Art with limited practicality IMO. respected none the less.

May 15, 2012 - I got to spar with Shaolin practicioners before, I did MMA (Mostly BJJ) for a while and some Taekwondo but when I sparred the Shaolin, you try to clinch or takedown, they just jam their rock hard fingers into your throat and push you away. They are the fastest people... Ever... What most people don't know is, there's so many things in MMA that are also in Kung fu. Such as rear naked chokes, armbars, triangles etc. And my point is, kung fu was made for killing (weapons included) MMA is a sport
